I used the Trex as a base for a gazebo installed on my patio. I counterbored the anchor bolts from below using 1.5" Forstner bit, I also routed some corners to ease the sharpness after the cuts ( I mitered the corners for the base). The Trex allowed me to screw the screen channel down without having to drill and anchor in my brand new concrete. I like that Trex is water proof and will not rot. It cut and drilled nicely. I easily routed channels to allow water to pass under the material when it gets inside. The color & woodgrain texture looks fantastic and worth the extra for the higher spec Trancend ( as is having the full 1" of thickness to work with for my use. My wife and I like it so much we are planning to "deck" the inside of the gazebo with Transcend to make the space an even nicer outdoor living room - we are in Houston. I was able to buy the boards in 16' lengths which was also a big plus as there are no seams.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great way to spice up your deck is with this product that allows for workable space or a space to entertain or relax. The feel of the product is not too rough but not smooth either. Although this product does not match up with the exterior of my bricks at the rear of our home, I would still recommend this product to others. Deep crevice is very noticeable and the thickness is more than I imagined. If you look at the side view you can feel how smooth the grain is. So it's not rough when piecing it together.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After looking at, walking on, and spilling liquids on this deck board sample I would definitely consider it if I was in the market for new decking for our home. The thing I like the most is that the board itself is covered with a plastic-like cover, making it weatherproof. It also means no more cleaning and painting every year. It does resemble a real-life board but you can tell it is not. It appears to be made of a thick press board that is coated and shaped to look like regular deck boarding, either grooved or square edge. I also like that there are many colors to choose from, either a dark or light to match your style. I like the lighter color myself. This board, in particular, is one of the dark colors - Spiced Rum.

Its a rich tone and would look good for any deck! I was amazed at how solid it is and that it comes with a warranty against fading. No worries of splinters and environmentally safe b/c its 95% recycled material.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a nice sized sample of Spiced Rum by Trex deck board. I love the color and most importantly the quality of the decking board. It is comfortable to walk on and is a rich color that looks like it will hold up very well on our outdoor deck. We currently have a good deck of a good size and I am definitely considering replacing our wood boards with this deck board. The boards have grooves and look as if they will slide together quite easily. We have four seasons and this board definitely looks of the quality to withstand water and snow and the sun. I would rate this a high quality item. I especially love Spiced Rum as it would not get as hot with the sun as it is a lighter color but still dark enough to withstand dirt.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This board seems to be very sturdy and weather resistant. I left the sample outside during a few crazy rainstorms to see if it would hold up or weather. I even had my dog chew on it for a bit to see how strong it was. It seems to hold up amazing. The one issue i do have is that the wood looks extremely fake. It doesn't have any authentic look to it. The dark coloring is nice and could pass off as a dark painted real wood if you did not look closely at the grains. Overall I think this product would be great and low maintenance unlike real wood which requires some touch up every year.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The transcend deck board sample definitely exceeded my expectations. It's not only durable, it's also very attractive. l also loved the color and the option to pick out a design I liked.

i'm done now with the front porch and i am disappointed i'll never buy the 20' long boards again - lot of crooked ones, very hard to work with the hidden spacers are nice, however the screws breaks sometime (i used an impact driver) overall, this is not what i expected from a premium priced product HD or the manufacturer does not deliver, which would be a nice perk at this price i have to think about buying the shorter boards to do the back porch or rather try the competition

Dimensions were not accurate to match older boards, both in width and thickness. Only by 1/8” but enough to be noticed.

About the nicest color I found is why I picked Transcend. Still could use a little more grainyness. AND it is pricey.

We redid our deck with Trex boards and I couldn't be happier. It is costly but it is an investment and I will not have to redo the deck ever again.

Beautiful deck!! We used the Tiki Torch color for the main part of the deck and pictured framed the outside of the deck with Spiced Rum. Looks so amazing! Stunning!

We got the Trex Transcend to replace pressure treated decking treads on our front steps and needed 10 9ft wide planks for 5 stairs. Ordered 5 20ft pieces and brought a circular saw to the store. I was able to quickly slice them into 10ft pieces and get them into the pickup truck. The HomeDepot employee in the yard provided a red flag to tie around what was sticking out. All done in 15 minutes and now that it's installed, the Lava Rock looks fabulous!

I bought Trex deck. They do not stand behind their product. If something goes wrong. they blame the installation

The sample is a reasonable size to judge texture and color. This line is clearly very strong and easy to machine. There was adequate labeling for identification. The colors on line and in catalogs are deceiving as lighting plays a huge roll in the appearance. When planning to invest a lot of money in an upgrade, I highly recommend ordering additional samples to include the nearest colors that might be acceptable.
