This is an excellent polyurethane. It's easy to apply and doesn't leave a super shiny finish which I love but leaves the wood with a very soft finish and looks great. Love this product.

It apparently had a good look but after close examination we discovered that there was quite a few white specks in this varathane matte finish that we had chosen so therefore I give it a thumbs down.

I used this product on a barn wood headboard for...
I used this product on a barn wood headboard for a farmhouse style bedroom.It went on easily and soaked into the wood, so I applied a second coat and so far it's holding up well. No sheen, just what I wanted for this project. Did darken a few pieces, but all in all I'm pleased.

This varnish goes on easy with a finish that provides a nice low gloss (matte) look. This low gloss finish hide smallblemishes.Very pleased. Being water based, clean-up is a breeze. Would highly recommend. Would be nice if this item were available for sale in the store and not require special order.

Let's get to the bottom of this! When applying Rust-Oleum Varathane Soft Touch Polyurethane, we recommend allowing each coat to dry for a minimum of 2 hours before recoating. The previous coat should no longer feel tacky to the touch before it is recoated. We also do not recommend applying more than 2 coats in 24 hours.

Beyond pleased with the results! It is nearly impossible to find a matte finish poly locally. After searching every hardware store in town I ordered this online. It arrived quick, was packaged nicely so there was no damage or dings on either can. It gave me the exact results I was hoping for on my kitchen cabinets

I just love this product, I originally purchased for a bathroom vanity that the customer wanted in a "waxed" like dull finish, it has a bit of a sheen and a velvety feel, goes on easy, clean up easy, use a 100% nylon high quality brush, steel wool between coats, I applied 3 coats.

Great Product!
I like the water based polyurethanes because they don't yellow over time, clean up is easy, and they dry quickly. However, the products I have tried previously didn't self level very well and they left dried bubbles in the finish. This Varathane product dries very smooth with just the amount of sheen I wanted.
