This fridge was purchased 18 months ago. This morning, it's not working anymore. Not durable at all.

We use this in a comerical setting. Works very good for us, good size inside and out.

Purchased this on July 1st, 2014 for our lake home as we did not need a large one for our weekend lake home. 2 weeks before the warranty ran out, the unit quit running. I found a reset button and low and behold it worked again. Went back the following weekend and the unit was off again. Called customer service which we got in contact with Magic Chef, one day after the year warranty expired. Since this was at a lake home, they had no idea who they could send out to fix the unit. Then they informed me that I would have to pay for parts and labor since the warranty expired. I told them that I would have called earlier, but since I wasn't there until the 2nd, I had no idea it went out again. The response was SO SORRY......there is nothing we can do. You can take it to a Magic Chef repair center, but we don't know where one is based on the location that you gave us. So it looks like I can pull it out, take it 140 miles to a center in my city, wait 1 -2 weeks, then take it back. Hmmm. I would not purchase this product, nor an other Magic Chef items.

I liked the size of this fridge, except for the unit that takes a third of the available space on the top shelf. It worked fine for 6 weeks, then suddenly the fridge part stopped cooling! Contacting the manufacturers' customer service to arrange for service was a nightmare! The first person I talked to told me that I needed to move a bolt to fix the door, which I took offense to! Why should I have to fix my own 6 week old fridge!??! She got upset when I told her that was ridiculous. Still husband tried, physically impossible! Then he calls to let them know hoping they could/would expedite the service to be lied to, they told him it was already in service queue. When I called the following day, I was told it wasn't in queue yet. They couldn't get their lies straight! Needless to say we returned the fridge to the store for a refund and will NEVER even look at this brand again!

Bought it last year at home depot. Came home today to find all the food rotten. It stopped running while I was gone for a few days. Watch out!

This product gets negative stars in all fields! The freezer is always full of frost... sometimes the door will not even open and the refrigerator part is never cold enough.

We needed a little fridge in the maintenance department and I was tight for space in my office where I wanted it so this thing worked out perfectly.

No complaints! I have been using this refrigerator for 11 months now. The size is perfect in my apartment, and the cooling has been dependable. I keep the freezer about -10 deg f, and the refrigerator between 33 and 34. This refrigerator has been over filled and sparsely filled and it worked fine in all instances. However, if the freezer is so stuffed that the vents in back are blocked, ice crystals start forming and then melt during the defrost cycling. This is a bit more than half the cu. ft. of a normal fridge, yet it is more than sufficient for me. I cook most of my meals from scratch and use a good bit of fresh produce. The bins at the bottom seem roomy enough for produce, and I've been able to arrange the shelves to suit my needs well. Living in S. Florida, the windows are open about 6 months a year. Even with the higher humidity and warmer space during that time, as opposed to summer when the AC is on and windows closed, I have never had a problem with condensation around the door like I have with other refrigerators. There is a bit of a thermostat adjustment needed when going from the one situation to the other. But as the instructions say, move the dial a bit and wait 24 hours to see where the temperature lands. After reading the other reviews before purchase, I also purchased a two year service agreement just to be safe. Hope never to need it. I am happy with this product and would indeed recommend to a friend.

FREEZER FROSTS UP FRIGE NOT COLD ENOUGH NEEDS SERVICE. LUCKILY ITS UNDER WARRANTEE. LETS SEE HOW THAT WORKS OUT??? IT'S JUST UNDER A YR OLD.

I bought this refrigerator in August 2013. It quit working in 2015. You would think a refrigerator would last longer than one year, 8 months. It looks good for a family on a budget and small scale but we wasted out hard earned money and at minimum wage, that's tough. Thank you Home Depot and the products you sell. I know, I know, I should have bought an extended warranty but if I could afford that I would have bought a better refrigerator.

I lost more in the cost of replacing the food than I saved in the cost of the refrigerator. You get what you pay for.... In this case you get less

I bought this fridge 4 months ago and haven't had any problems with it. No frost or freezing so far. Ample drawer space for this size of fridge. The compressor is a tad bit on the noisy side since I keep this in the living room next to the kitchen, but I haven't had to turn up the TV to hear over it. It's not a fancy fridge but I was only looking for something basic. I'm happy with it especially at this price point.

First the fridge and freezer will work fine,then the freezer will work and the fridge is warm but working and takes forever to cool off,ruining the food.It seems to defrost a lot.Don't buy this fridge.

This refrigerator stopped worked after six months and I am kicking myself for buying it. I should have known better after reading all of the terrible reviews.

The freezer does not work in the garage. If you put it in the garage, the unit becomes out of warranty. I ended up taking it back because the whole reason for this fridge was to have an extra fridge in the garage.

These refrigerators were purchased 12/31/2013 and delivered to our office mid January. One year later in February one of the refrigerators stopped working. I called Vissani which is Magic Chef Corp and they just said too bad it's over a year. If it is the compressor we will send it but everything else including labor is your cost. I will never purchase another Magic chef appliance.

Have this product in garqge. Works find, but I need to order a new door. Went on internet to order parts. Internet could not find the model number. Called customer service, could not get an answer.

Have it in basement bought in Nov. 2014 worked until Feb 15, steaks other food in freezer thawed had to throw out everything in the freezer. Manual states temps. below 50 and above 85 will hinder performance. Temperature in basement has gotten down to 50. Turned the temperature control up to eight then freezer went on. Put a thermometer in freezer that keeps record of temp. Range of temperature -5 to 32 in a 24 hour period. Temperature won't stay constant. USDA states freezer should be 0. Very disappointed wish I would have spent more and purchased a better unit. Will call the 800 number for service. Would have returned to store just noticed the 90 return policy too late.
