This is a review of the WEN Drywall Sander...I was looking for a solution for sanding an outdoor cedar deck from a more standing position, one that was lightweight enough for me to carry it up steps, but still heavy enough to take off a relatively light buildup of stain down to bare wood. I thought I would try this sander, and it worked great without having to apply undue pressure to strip my deck flooring and I was able to carry it and handle it easily enough for the 76 yr. old woman that I am. I did have to use a coarser sanding disc, 60 grit hook and loop, and it worked better to sand it down more quickly than the finer grit discs. I am very happy with the final results, and am very glad that I found an alternate solution to renting a heavy sander, or having to use a hand sander on my knees. This purchase saved me at least $2500. as I was able to sand and stain my own deck for just under $400. including the cost of the stain and smaller tools and supplies required. I would recommend this as a viable solution for sanding a deck or floor without having to deal with heavy machinery. While it is designed for drywall sanding, it works great for floor sanding as well with a little innovation and some minor adjustments!

Sturdy and true. Paper held together under pressure and has a good life span.

The sand paper was great. The sander I bought to use was not so great! I repeatedly had to restart the sander because it would stop turning.

Rips through textured ceilings with ease. Took 4hrs to hand scrape a 10x6 room. Took only 3hrs (including breaks) with this sander to complete an 11x14 room. Must attach a powerful vac (min 5hp) with frequent filter cleaning because it pulls a lot of drywall dust

Holes in paper don’t line up with sander

This is the wrong sanding pad for the newer Wen sanding tools, which have a wider hole pattern. All hand sanders from every manufacturer can use standardized sanding discs, yet Wen can't standardize their own product lines. HD recommends the wrong pad- they do sell the correct one too. It supposedly for sanding drywall, yet it is not actually, just a regular sand paper that gets gunked up with drywall dust far to easily.

Works very well for us! Highly recommended.

This sander is a great tool in both saving time and effort sanding. It does have a little weight to it. Still all-in-all easy to used right out of the box.
