Product arrived damaged.

The Handle didn't last a week before the plastic that holds screws broke. I like the door idea but not sure how long it will last. For the price it should have been better built. Looking for a replace part now

I purchased this door July 2023, and it’s been great during the summer months when we want to keep the bugs out but allow cool air to flow through the house. The only issue I have is with the handle. It hasn’t been a year and the handle completely broke off the door. Unlike the rest of the door, it’s made of plastic. Now we need to find a replacement handle or purchase another door (not going to happen).

Assembly was easy after watching video on YouTube. The Still Adapter included 30.5” did not fit. I had to purchase a new 35” long still adapter for $24.99!

Extremely easy to assemble and install. I believe it took longer to unpack than to install. Very satisfied with the screen and quality. Only issue is trying not to walk through it while closed!

Very disappointed in Anderson using plastic at the most important point. The latch. Door was used on a limited basis in a part time home. Don’t know how they would think that tiny nub of plastic was going to hold a retractable screen for more than a short period of time. Can’t just buy the tiny plastic part that broke, they only have the whole latch mechanism $35 on their website. Would not recommend this screen.

We bought two about a month ago and the install was as easy as advertised, especially if you have two people. My complaint is that after only a month, the retraction mechanism is not functioning, and door will not open all the way or if we manually open it the screen is not retracting in the casing. Would love some advice or followup from manufacturer

Great product, very easy to install and look great inside and outside

First one I received was broke and missing parts but Home Depot immediately sent me another one and the broken one was picked up by UPS. I found a video on you tube and it literally took me anout 5 mins to put it together and 10 mins to install. I love it. Unfortunately I have walked into it a couple of times. But no harm to the screen… just my ego. Highly recommend this. I just ordered anither one for my back door.

I love my retractable screen door. It convenient easy and easy ro install unfortunately I’ve had it less than a year and the latch broke. I paid $180 for this door for a small plastic part to through the entire door off for the amount is not worth it! Now it will not stay close!

The box advertises 80 - 80-7/8 inch door frames but the framing on the one I just brought home is a good inch longer than that… spent way more time than I should trying prepare and get things right on sizing only to be disappointed when the height advertised didn’t come as stated.

ordered the 78" Black , Received 80" Bronze. I 268 for 78" Screen. they shipped 80" version in Bronze. Called to replace and now must wait three more days this time with no door at all. major pain in the Ace. I'm leaving this review to document what happened. Home Depot states UPS will pick up today. package is ready for them.

This retractable screen door is perfect. We did not want a screen door that had to swig out into the patio space so this worked out great. We can now enjoy some fresh air and keep the dogs in/out.

This screen door need to be assembled and the instruction sheet is really hard to understand.

This was the 2nd screen door that I have to return, Both of them cracked in the same exact place, extremely cheap, and definitely not worth the money!

Worked pretty well for a couple years, though sometimes screen will pull out of track and get bunched up. But handle is flimsy plastic and broke off completely with normal use. Would have expected it to last longer for the price. Trying to see if I can get a replacement handle, but think probably unlikely.

Picked up from store, comes in 4 separate pieces that are easy to join - letter coded, A on A, etc - once assembled, super easy to install, position then 3 screws on left and 3 on right, and that is it, now i have a screen. Beats remodeling for a sliding door. Looks and feels sturdy enough to last a few years. Great price.

We had the door up and pulled the door open and the screen was cut. I called Andersen and they are sending a replacement screen but I have to wait for 11 business days to get it. Not happy. Installing was easy. Customer service person was very nice.

Cats can easily escape & they will. I saw reviews saying your cats will get out but I thought people meant under the tracks - no. In order for the screen to be retractable it can’t be affixed to the tracks, so it is only attached on either side, not the top or bottom. Once your cat pushes a little bit on the screen, poof they’re roadkill. Spent over $400 on 2 of these & now I can’t use them. Was able to return 1 before installing but would be damaging to remove the 1 we already installed.

Edit from my review on February 4th. I was about to pack the door back up and return to store but customer service told me to call and they sent a new handle. Took a couple weeks but I got it and am back to being happy with it. Didn't realize it had a 5 year warranty and they seem to have no problem standing behind it. Kudos to Anderson!

I purchased this door to fit a 36” door opening. Instructions were easy to follow, installation went smoothly until the very last step of when I went to install the button sill door plate. The plate provided with this 36” door only measured 30 1/2”, that almost 6” shorter than the opening: I could see maybe including a sill plate that would be 35” but adding a plate that is 5 1/2” too short kind of looks stupid with the open space on both ends of the sill. I called the company and they confirmed that they only include the 30 1/2” sill plate in all their single doors. If I wanted a longer sill plate I would have to pay for it. I ordered one with not having much other choice but why would the company or manufacturer not include a sill plate that is 36” long and allow the customer to cut it to the required length. For this reason alone, I would look at purchasing another manufacturers retractable screen door from another supplier. Very disappointed with the customer support provided by Andersen on this.

We needed a screen door but didn't want to block out our new front door's design. This retractable screen door is exactly what we needed when we wanted some fresh air, especially since our front room window doesn't open. The install was super easy and quick. My only complaint is the latch. My children are having a little difficulty with it. I stole the idea from another review to use a ribbon to show when the door is closed so we don't walk right through the screen.

Looks like this was a return and sold as new. Reason being, the screws were not the right ones and were stripped of paint on several anchor main mounts on the frame. Also a hole in the screen...

Bought this to replace a previous andersen screen that people kept walking through! Instead of attaching in the middle of the doorway, it attaches outside. Which leaves a gap to get in. I was worried about flies getting in and initially disappointed because of that. Not 6 hours after installing, we caught a lizard inside the screen which ran inside the gap, and inside the house! This is a complete waste. I saw it on the inside of the screen, so I close the door. Came in from the outside, with the door closed, I opened the screen. He fell, and despite a weather screen on the bottom, slithered his way instead. Absolutely worthless!

Got this door net in april of this year's. Love it when it was installed. Our door can be opened without let any bugs and fly comes inside the house. Unfortunately, the door only last for one summer season, the door knob was falling thru where the screw piece broken from the inside.

I has been up for a couple of months and still slides easily. As with others, my only complaint is the transition plate is for a 32" door. This is by design, so why not design one that is easy to cut down or not state it for up to a 36" opening.

The plastic on the bottom of the frame cracked within a few weeks of use. It broke in the side where the screen retracts. Made to door unusable.

Saw this retractable screen door by Anderson at my local store and thougt it was a cool product. We decided to take a chance and installed it on our door leading to the garage last spring. Used it a total of 10 times, which includes the testing during installation and it broke. No specific reason, no hard use, just a bad product. The spring mechanism for the retractable screen fell out the bottom after the plastic housing cracked. What a huge waste of $200…
