Helpful Associate
I visited the store looking for one of the ceramic smooth top stoves, and found one I liked. An associate told me of an upcoming sale, so I put off the purchase for a couple of weeks to take advantage of the sale price. Since I'm retired, help like that is much appreciated!

Trying to get help loading
I think when it comes time to load at contractors entrance, with three or more carts and no one even lifted a finger to help. To just help push one out would make a world of difference!

Unsatisfied delivery and empty promises
My husband and I purchased a LG washer on 12/27/2015 with a delivery date of 01/02/216. On the day of delivery, the roads were icy so the truck slid and ended up in a ditch. Luckily, they were in our neighborhood and about 5 minutes away so my husband went out there to see if he can help them get out. The delivery people said they had to get the ok from their boss to get out so my husband came home. We did not hear back from them so my husband called them and they said they could not deliver the washer. I was really upset because they didn't call us back and also they were already here! They asked my husband when he would like them to come back out and my husband said Monday (1/4/16) at 2:00pm and they said yes. My husband called them on Monday morning to confirm only to be told that they do not come out to our area on Mondays and they will have to come out the next day. My husband was told “we don’t know who you spoke to but we don’t come out there on Mondays”.
We went back to the store on Monday evening to tell them about how upset we were when they were already in our neighborhood on Saturday and didn’t deliver the washer. We were given a timeframe of 12:00-2:00 for delivery the next day, Tuesday 01/05/2016, and we were reassured by the sales person that they will be there. I told her that they better be there because I don’t want anymore excuses and didn’t want to wait any longer. If they did not deliver it on Tuesday, I would like a refund. She reassured me again that they will be there.
On Tuesday morning, my husband called to confirm again and yes, they said they will be there. My husband left work early and was waiting for them at noon. At about 3:30, my husband said they were still not there yet so he called them and they said they were on their way from a store in Anchorage (we live in Chugiak). At about 4:20, they called and said they were on their way again. What happened to the delivery time of 12:00-2:00??? By this time I was starting to panic because we only have one vehicle, which my husband took to get home to wait for them. Meanwhile, our kids were still in school and I was still at work so if he was still waiting for them to deliver the washer, he would not get back to Anchorage in time to pick up the kids by 6:00pm.
By this time I was also VERY upset so I called the store and spoke to a customer service person. She checked the schedule and said we were on the schedule for 5:00. Why were we told 12-2:00 when we were scheduled for 5:00??? She transferred me to the store manager and he was no help either. He was making excuses instead of trying to figure out how to help or offering to call the delivery people to straighten this out. I told him I would probably like to get a refund and he said we can call the delivery people to take the washer back and we’d need to go to the store to get a refund. Another inconvenience! Finally at 5:00 they were still not there yet so my husband told them to do their next delivery and come back around to our house so he can come pick us up.
When the washer finally arrived I asked the delivery people who schedules the deliveries and they said Home Depot does. If Home Depot does the scheduling, then they are NOT doing a good job of it. If there are delays, at least call the customer and notify them and ask them if they would still like to wait or reschedule for another time instead of having them wait 5 hours past the cutoff time they were given! There is no accountability with anyone and all the sales people do is make promises they can’t keep. I assure you this will be the last time I purchase an appliance form Home Depot.

Home depot credit card
They no longer match Lowes 5% off when using the Home Depot credit card. I will no longer be using it because there is no incentive. 5% is the only reason I used the Home Depot Card.
I have other cards that I will use because they give back.

I wish everytime I go into Homedepot, every associate would be as experienced about the products, quick, and helpful while I made my selection and during checkout. This guy was on top of his job. I'm looking for this guy next time I go to Homedepot!

Best store visit to date
I was in need of a Spacemaker Stackable Washer and Dryer, and after reading the product reviews I went to the customer service desk and ordered it. The associate was very helpful and pleasant, she had a few questions and had no problem getting the answers right away. I needed a higher credit limit and she called the appropriate entities for that as well. Everything went very smoothly on my trip to Home Depot and I look forward to my new Washer and Dryer in the very near future. Good associates make Happy customers.........

friendly staff, long wait
Once I was able to meet with a worker, it was great. He was knowledgeable and friendly. The fact that during holidays and during a huge sale, they only had 1 person working in the Appliances dept. was a different issue. I recommend more staff availability.

Easy Returns
Forgot my receipt and the clerk returned my item back to the card I purchased it with. No long survey, no questions about the return, just as simple as that. Went and spent my return money immediately because the store has just too many cool tools to walk out empty handed.

Good experience
Restrooms were clean!:) Was kind of dissaponted to see Christmas stuff out already even though Halloween hadn't passed yet. Also the wood stove section did not have thermostats so was only able to get half the items on my list. But overall a good shopping trip.

Exceptional Customer Service!
I was exceptionally grateful for the customer service I received on the evening of 10/7/2015! I had just spent an hour at the LOWES store across the street where the staff was untimely and inept with their recommendations.
I explained my situation to the cashier as soon as I walked in and he promptly directed me to the insulation products available and called for an associate. Even though it was a busy time in the store, the associate came within 10 minutes and stayed with me throughout my purchasing experience. HE was patient and knowledgeable. He completed a purchase receipt for me to give to the cashier, loaded the cart, and then loaded my truck with the assistance of another associate.
The cashier prompted me to apply for the Home Depot card to save 5% on my bill; this allowed me to save $81.29. Thank you for the incredible customer service!

Worth the drive.
I was able to find the second choice heater I researched, and the price was great. The only thing that I do not like, is finding something online that says it is in stock, but after driving 125 miles from Seward, it is not available unless it is special ordered. Apparently the Corporate office does not think that Alaska should be as well stocked as stores in the lower 48.

replacing an old window
I knew nothing about replacing a window except that the Home Depot offered the service. Carmine took the time to explain the process and what to expect. He went over option and advised based on my needs and my condo associations desires. He then walked me through some options for trim. Once measurements were sent in I sat down with him and went over what was available for my size window. He had included two options and we discussed which would be the best for now and for the future. While vinyl would be a less expensive, it could be damaged when the condo is painted in the future. So we decided fiberglass with paintable trim was the best option.
He also explained the warranty, then walked me up front to checkout and process the order. And he told me I can pick up the trim to paint it before installation. He made me feel very confident with the whole process and the product.

Paint Department Very Responsive
There was essentially no wait at the paint counter and 2 associates available to help. In the past I have had to go searching for a paint associate. This was a very quick and easy trip to get the paint I needed.
