Will this work with a Craftsman 41A4373A?

I actually have no idea why these people are saying since it was made pre 1996 it won't work? Have they actually tried them???? Seriously. Since brand new Chamberlain eyes light up amber instead of green you think they don't work? or are you only reading the web info? New openers installed with existing 1993 systems work with the old sensors every bit as well as vice versa. Try something yourself and see before you basically tell people to trash their opener or spend $150.00 on exact model numbers.

That number is the part number for the logic board. based on the age of that board these sensors won't work. They are for openers that are newer that 1997. The sensors that you need were discontinued a few years ago.

Thank you for your question. That is not recommended, as the singular pair of safety reversing sensors must be installed so that the beam is no higher than 6'' above the garage floor.

Will these sensors work with other brands of garage door openers?

Hello Lisa. This replacement sensor kit is only compatible with Chamberlain manufactured garage door openers, and will not work with other manufacturer's systems. Chamberlain, Craftsman, LiftMaster, AccessMaster, and Raynor branded machines are all manufactured by Chamberlain.

Only 1997 and newer. The ones you need were discontinued several years ago.

I have older (~1995) Craftsman door opener. It suddenly did not want to close despite no obstructions. Traced problem to safety sensors. My opener calls for LiftMasterCraftsmanChamberlain 41A4373A Safety Sensors. Used Home Depot version and it works fine. One with amber light is sending unit, and one with green light is receiving unit. Did not have to use the metal brackets that came with the kit. Was able to place sensors in the original brackets. Good luck with your repairs. Mark

So far so good. Had to a pre-1997 LiftMaster sensor that died and is no longer made. Took a chance and replaced with this model. Instructions were clear. Only had to cut from wire leading to old sensor and reconnect to new wire leading to new sensor. Did not have to re-program door opener or sensor. This model took up less space versus older model. I plan to buy a second pack for my other garage door sensor before it too goes on the blink.

I have a Liftmaster Model 1245K, manufactured 6/95. The sensor lights were both green, until the receiving sensor died. The original sensor set is no longer available from the manufacturer. An installer told me this new style would work. It did!! New mounting brackets are required, but they aren't the best for my installation. I have minimal clearance on either side of the door. My solution was to mount the brackets backward onto the track, using square holes in the track. It works, but the lights do stick out into the door opening. Looking for a way to protect the sensors. Also, The furnished wall mount instruction appears to be in error.

Replaced old 1993 1200 series garage door sensors and they are working fine. I hooked wiring up just as stated in instructions. The brackets that come with unit are a little tricky but if you install bracket with front rotated towards door so hooks easily slide over rail closest to you and then rotate them backwards until the 2 tines on backside slide over back of rail you should have an easier time.

Easy to install but would have liked it better if if would have fit the original brackets better. New brackets were to flimsy and didn't fit the sensors well. Also slightly pricey.

I have a Craftsman 1/2 HP Garage Door Opener Model 139.53985. The button on it is purple. I was not sure if these would work, and based on all the info I read in these reviews (thx peeps!) and the description, I also gambled on buying it. I needed a new set because my receiver side was failing - wiring inside the unit was intermittent connecting. Since these things are sealed I chose to buy new rather than break it apart to re-solder the wiring inside. Bottom line? It worked. Here are my tips: 1. Make sure ya follow the directions carefully - look at the diagrams. 2. If ya use the clips, they don't completely go all the way on. They are pressure clips with hooking barbs for the backside of the rail. As long as ya have them securely tight on the back side of the rails, you'll find that the spring part ends up simply just applying pressure on the rail to keep them firmly in place. 3. When properly assembled INTO the brackets, the lights will be exposed to the outside. 4. Pay attention to which sides are sender and receiver, and when wiring, match up the wiring per the instructions. For me, it was connect the wht/blk wire to the wht/gry and wht to wht. I included pics - "thousand words" ya know. :-)
