Jass, Although there could be a few things going on in your situation, it mostly sounds as if you have lost your prime. Please contact our experts at 844-883-1872 so we can get a better understanding of your situation and allow for some guidance in the matter. Thanks.

Tim, This pump does not run off a pressure switch. It will remain running to ensure water is being pumped to each zone head and not running out of water. When zones are changed or when the entire cycle is over the pump should shut off when your system shuts down. If you have further questions or concerns, contact our experts at 844-883-1872, thanks.

(What's this)
The Everbilt 1-1/2 HP Plastic Lawn Sprinkler Pump is just what we needed to replace our old and struggling pump. I preferred the cast-iron pump because that's what I had before, but it wasn't available when I needed it and this one did the job just fine. In fact, I'm not sure I would've been able to handle the new cast-iron pump with my bad back compared to this plastic pump which was rather heavy itself. The installation was easy considering what it was I was installing, and the BILT virtual setup assistant that is available was an extra help to make sure I didn't miss a step. That BILT app has helped with a few different projects now. The unit comes with a 2 inch inlet and 1-1/2 inch outlet, and assuming that you have all of your pipe connections leak tight, and you have a check valve on the inlet side, you should be rock solid with this pump's performance. I installed a ball valve on the outlet side to help with pressure regulation. I'm running off 115 volts and the motor switch on the inside of the housing is easy to use, and the wiring is super simple. I've read that many people had issues getting their pump to prime or stay primed, and I didn't have that problem. From the first prime I was set and ready to go. I'm not sure how long this pump will last, but it's sturdy and heavy-duty, considering its plastic housing, and I'm very satisfied with it's performance. I'm not sure how long my previous pump worked either because it was existing when I moved in, but I'm hoping to get several years out of this unit before a change is required.

I had an existing dprinkler system and the 15 year old Myers QP15 spun the hub out of the impeller. A new impeller was $50 and the pump was 15 years old. I figured I would buy a new pump and purchased this one from HD. Hook up was as easy as any other. I did have to move up to a 1.5 inch inlet coupling but no biggie. The new pump was unable to prime. I went though and removed any suspect connections on the suction side. The refilled the pump housing to prime. Still no luck. Refilled the housing several times. Still no prime. I check the inlet for suction pressure at the end of the pipe in the lake...when started with a full pump housing it had good suction. But as water rose in the pipe it would just reduce to nothing. I had about a 10 or 12 foot rise. I finally got it to prime by putting a high volume vacuum on a hose on the pressure side. Once primed the pump had some outstanding volume. I was hoping subsequent restarts would prime easier but unless you have a perfect set up with a perfect foot valve it just would not prime again. I did some research and the original Myers qp15 is billed as self priming after initial housibg fill. I ordered the Myers impeller and got it 3 days later. Removed the Everbilt 1.5 and installed the rebuilt Myers 1.5 and fired it up. The sprinkler system was pumping hard within 5 minutes from and empty suction pipe. Subsequent starts reprine within 1 minute. I will continue to rebuild this Myers pump till it cant be rebuilt no more. Then I will buy a new Myers. The Everbilt would satisfy many systems IMO if you had a shorter run of suction pipe and maybe less than 10 feet of lift. Also if you have very clean water free of any debris where the foot valve has a perfect seal this may work. But got help you if you lose prime. Good luck people.

Our experts are always willing to help out in situations such as yours. We can be reached at 844-883-1872, Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm EST. With that being said, it seems that your setup is somewhat unique with a possible longer "run" and more than 10' of lift needed. This could have maybe been solved with a larger horsepower or checking to be sure there were no leaks in the inlet/discharge. We thank you for your feedback and details, but again, please note that we are always willing to help when contacted. Thanks and have a great day.

Seized after 1.5 years of Use
I had this pump installed new for my irrigation system when I moved into my house less than two years ago and it has already seized up and must be replaced. I would go with a different brand. And of course, it only has a one year warranty...

Chris,
You mentioned the pump "seized", do you know the overall cause for this? Was a correct foot valve used and in working order? Allowing debris to affect the impeller could cause lasting damage. Have you checked to ensure there is no leaks throughout your system that could force the pump to lose it's prime? There are a few trouble shooting items to check for and please contact us at 844-883-1872 if we can be of any assistance moving forward. Thanks.

Worked OK for approximately one year and then noticed it would start surging. Then it started occasionally tripping the breaker. Now it won't start up without tripping breaker. Guess I am out $269, will never buy another one of these. Should have read the reviews first.

On my third one. Works about one year. Seems like a good product and works well until it fails. Seems the switch where applied voltage can be changed from 110 to 220 is the weak point and all have failed there.
