AnswersKeep in mind it's made to put in a window frame. (Much like the way an air condioner fits in a window.) I should think as long as you put something inside and outside .Your dog could certainly use.

AnswersI have had it installed for 3 years and love it. But yes, in New England noreasters, the door will blow open when it gusts. Still not a deal breaker to me and if it's a bad storm I can just lock it temporarily.
If it doesn't look right or my cats will not use is it returnable. If so can I return to a store

AnswersSure just keep your receipt and the packing materials. You will need to provide an incentive to have your pet use it the first few days. Put some time into the training. It's much better than jumping up to open the door to let your pet in and out.

This pet door/window combo looks great and could not have been easier to install. The spring-loaded expanders are the outstanding feature, allowing the insert to easily fit your window space. The door itself is a rather stiff swing, and is intimidating to my cats - I'm assuming it will loosen up over use and if not I'll trim down the brush to allow it to swing more freely.

This was so easy to install in our vinyl, double Paine window. It went into place easily and I used some scrap flooring to fill a 1/2 inch gap on the inside channel of the window. It looks great. The two mature cats that we inherited from my wife's parents learned quickly how to use the pass gate to access the screen porch with just a little encouragement over the first few days. I put it in with stick on insulation on the top and bottom, about 3 weeks ago. I've got a nice tight fit with no air penetration unless the pass gate is held open. I game an alarm system and made sure that if someone forcibly removed the Kat Frame Door, the alarm would activate. I also pinned the two pained together so they are immobile, tight and secure.
The 4 way lock works well to allow the cats in or out , one way or the other direction.
I built a platform on the outside of the window sill to make a place for the cats to step onto instead of just the narrow brick sill.
Buy this and your pets won't bother you to open the door.

Bought this for use a vinyl replacement window. It is sturdy and well made. I had to add plenty of air conditioning foam around it to make a good seal, but that is very inexpensive. Our house is in MA and this has been subject to sub freezing temps and Nor Easter storms. Winds can sometimes blow the door in an inch or so and driving snow has hit it and we had to lock it shut. The room it's in has some heat loss, but I find it acceptable. The 2 cats learned it within a few days and now fly through it. There is a learning curve, you will have to help them many times by holding it open to varying degrees.

Purchsed this when we moved from a house with a sliding door onto a sunroom to a second floor condo with a window onto the screened porch. After installing, I put window locks (the type you screw onto the track) at the top so the window can't be opened above the insert. Works like a charm!
Three minor issues: There is not NEARLY enough weather stripping included, so plan on getting yourself more to complete the sealing. The instructions explain how you are SUPPOSED to be able to remove the bottom two knobs, but four people (including two Home Depot employees) and a call to the company produced no results. I was able to make due, but sure would love to be able to get them out. And the magnet at the bottom of the flap was a little too strong for my cat to be willing to push it open, so I just cut it off completely. Would be nice to see them attach a magnet with a way to remove it from the plastic flap without having to cut it off. Other than that, no complaints!
