There is no substitute for a Pole Saw
I received this Ridgeline brand pole saw a few weeks ago and gave it a work-out over the weekend. I was able to reach limbs 15ft in the air fairly easily. The saw has plenty of power to run the 10 inch bar and chain, It starts easily and runs smoothly. The saw breaks down into 3 pieces and can be transported in a fairly small space (it fit in the trunk of my car). Overall I am happy with the saw but I do have one big concern. Whenever I tried to saw a limb, whether it was large or small, the chain would "bounce" and not just gradually dig into the wood. This happened on slow or fast speed. It happened as I put downward pressure on the saw or if I just laid it on the limb with no pressure. This makes it hard to cut with precision and also made some of the cuts very rough. I believe the chain has an aggressive cut and should be changed to a more gradual cutting, low kickback style. I am going to have one made to see if that solves the problem. Other than that I am satisfied with the saw.

    Makes pruning easier
This pole saw has three sections to give it a super long reach. When assembled with all three sections it is 9 feet 4 inches long. When using just two sections it is 6 feet 9 inches long. While assembly of the parts is fairly straightforward - it took me about 45 minutes to put everything together correctly because the instructions are somewhat perplexing. The instruction booklet has 30 very small low-resolution images showing the required detailed steps for assemble and operation. The descriptions are not very well written, and are printed seven pages later in the booklet, so constant page flipping is needed for each step. Some of the images and descriptions did not match my unit and might be for a different model. The drive rod and connection clamping piece have a very tight fit that make assembly difficult and is extremely hard to disassemble. It is a shame that the assemble process is such an ordeal - because once assembled it is a really good tool. The engine starts easily with gentle pulls on the cord. It runs smoothly with hardly any vibration and has very good power. It cut quickly and easily through the branches I was pruning.
