    Will this doorbell work with an existing Hampton Bay, wired digital chime model number 1001407821? Does it need any other equipment to work with that existing digital chime?When the doorbell button is pushed, will my existing digital chime play the melody

      Does this doorbell require subscription to work or will it show me who’s there anytime via WiFi connection on my smart phone through the app? I currently have two ecobee lite thermostats in the home but I’m not expecting these to show who’s at the door.

          The best Doorbell

The Ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera delivers crisp footage, reliable alerts, and smooth integration with Alexa and Ecobee devices. Setup was easy, and the app is intuitive. Just note: it’s wired-only and needs a subscription for full features. Still, a solid choice if you’re in the Ecobee ecosystem.

            Will be returning
            Bought it a month or two ago. I don’t love it… I find the picture quality isn’t great… kind of grainy. Set up was pretty easy. The app seems to take a while before you can check on the history where it’s picked up movement.

            Installation Issues.
            Installation does not address non-smooth surfaces such as stucco. After tightening the mounting screws into the stucco, the tapered mount was noticeably warped, and the doorbell would not mount to the plate without relieving the warp by loosening the bottom screw into the stucco. Then it is loose on the wall. Second issue was connecting the wires onto the back of the doorbell, the screws are tapered and force the wires outward. You will need to wrap the wires around the tiny screw, or use the wire extenders with spades on them. Also, while checking for compatibility, it states only that you need 16vac - 24vac, which I have. It does not state that a 16vac/10va transformer will under power the doorbell to the point of it being offline most of the time. I now have to replace the transformer with a 16vac/30va version. When it is powered up and running, it seems to work satisfactorily.

              AVOID AT ALL COST!
              We purchased this doorbell camera and three ecobee thermostats because you were supposed to be able to view the doorbell camera from the thermostats and we figured it was a nice safety feature for our children in our multifloor home… It does not work. At all. This is by far the worst doorbell camera we have ever owned. Ecobee has already replaced the original one and the second one doesn’t work either. It might work 10% of the time and that’s being generous. Save your money and buy anything else. I cannot pull up the live feed, it does not alert me when someone approaches the door and if it does, it’s usually about 10 minutes late, and if it is working, you cannot pull up live feed while it’s recording.

                Ecobee has helped me feel safe at home

                  Amazing coverage
                  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Im so in love with this doorbell camera. I love how I can adjust the areas to cover and how bright it is! Connecting it was super easy and also once you download the app you can just follow the easy instructions! It’s done in no time! The only thing I didn’t like at all is that the night vision is black and white even if my lights are on it’s still black and white. Wish that can get an update but other than that I love it!

                    Just what my home needed.
                    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This doorbell camera is just what my home needed. It was easy to install, as well as setup after installation. My main concern was not only home security, but being able to see when my kid comes in and out while playing with friends. The app was simple to install and the setup process was clear and concise with no confusion on my end. I simply downloaded the Ecobee app, located my doorbell camera via Bluetooth and finished by connecting it to my home WiFi network. The free trial allowed me to peruse the app and enjoy it before I paid anything, which was really nice. I can also download the recordings and talk to anyone who comes to the door, if I’m busy or not home. I look forward to using this for a long time to come.

                      I needed this a LONG time ago.
                      [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was nervous to try a new camera for my home. I had used ring for many years, I wasn’t all that satisfied but figured that was supposedly the best. I was a survivor of domestic abuse and it was many times where the ring would have come in handy but things were missed . The Ecobee was VERY easy to transition.one, it is constantly recording which I love. It also show SO MUCH MORE! this has made me feel more safe and comfortable in my home.It doesn't alert me unnecessarily. The app is easy to use and navigate. I can’t wait to add more of the Ecobee line to my home.

                        Love this Smart Doorbell!

I’ve had a doorbell that needed to be recharged before and that was always a hassle, so I absolutely love that this one doesn’t need it. It give a large view from all sides of what the front door looks like which I really enjoy, and it’s weatherproof so that’s a plus! The amount of security this brings is so awesome, now I want the smart thermostat to be able to link the doorbell to it because it’s so convenient with all that the smart subscription offers! I would 100% recommend and will be getting one for my parents too!!

                          Smart Zoom is a Cool Feature! Recommended!
                          [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just checked out the Ecobee Smart Wired Doorbell Video Camera, and honestly, it's pretty impressive. First off, the packaging was impressive. You know when you have a quality product when the packaging comes in the good thick material and everything is neatly placed in its place. Connecting the doorbell was very straightforward. This was my first time looking at my doorbell’s chrome box and I was able to install this within 30 mins. Once connected, I was impressed by the expansive view. Basically you can see everything at your doorstep, even if a package is right up against the door. I tested it. Durability-wise, this thing feels and looks like it is built to last. Now, the smart detection feature Is designed to only alert you for people and packages, so you don't get annoyed by false alarms every time a car passes by or leaves blow around. Just keep in mind, for package detection, you'll need their Smart Security subscription. Check out the images for Clarity!
