Q:Can this put bunk beds on top each other

    Answer This Question

A:  I don’t understand the question. Put bunk beds on top? On top of what? Each other? For mattress slats?

    by|Jan 27, 2021

A:  Using "wood dowels" on Bunk Beds is BIG NO ! "Metal Rod Dowel Pin " should always be used when "stacking" the beds together. The wood dowels do not provide the lateral shear strength needed. Protect Your Children !

Q:Can this rod hold up a hammock chair?

      Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. This dowel is not suitable for supporting the weight of an average human in a hammock chair.

A:  I’m not sure. I used a 1” dowel rod to replace a broken rung on my 12’ wooden ladder 20 years ago. It’s still is holding up. I would say get the largest dowel rod that would fit inside the hammock and try it. If it works , great. If not, you only wasted maybe $2

Q:Can I use these to make plugs?

        Answer This Question

A:  You most certainly can, and that is exactly what I use them for. I like to drill the hole, then press the whole dowel in as far as it will go with a little wood glue in there, and then cut the dowel off with a flush trim saw or a Japanese pull saw. That way I waste very little of the dowel. Great for plugs, I highly recommend.

A:  These make great plugs. The easy thing to do is use a 3/8" hole drill and measure the depth of hole that has to be filled. Simple wood glue to hold plug in place and after drying just sand.
