Q:Why Is There An Arrow Pointing One away ? Is It The Flow if Water ?

Answer This Question
A: The plastic tab with arrow is there because this tab sets the perfect offset between end of pex and the clamp position. The arrow points away from end of pex because the other end has a longer depth tab which rests against the pex end.

A: The arrow is NOT for the flow of water. The arrow is to point toward the pex piping and not the metal pex fitting. So therefore the water flow may go either way. Just point the arrow toward the flexible pex piping at each joint. These instructions are also on the packaging.

A: Before cinching down on the pinch clamp, make sure the arrow on the pinch clamp is facing towards the fitting. The red tab, with arrow facing towards the fitting, allows the pinch clamp to stay in place on vertical runs when cinching down on the pinch clamp.

A: These plastic tabs create the perfect offset between the end of pex tube and clamp, it's the reason they are there. The arrow is meant to point away from end of tubing because the other side has the longer gap setting tab.

Q:Not just seeking to be obnoxious but I was trying to understand this arrow and I see that in one question the response is to point in the direction of gravity to stop the clamp from slipping, but in another question the answer was to point towards the fitting which would mean opposite directions on each side, and in a third spot it just says the clamp direction makes no difference.
