A: Crispymom, Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, this is ¼” cable and is fairly flexible and it should be able to make the turn. If you have any questions regarding the product, please call our Customer Support Team at 877-272-7755.
A: Yes, it would work to clean a p-trap.
A: Yes, it is flexible enough to snake through p traps
A: No, unless you remove the toilet
A: No
A: Yes, but only for clogs that are within the cable length.
A: Dear Benj, Thank you for your question! This type of Pistol Grip Auger is for most sink, shower and tub drain applications. It is not recommended for use on toilets because the open hook and cable could scratch the porcelain. We do offer Toilet Augers in our 40000 – 49000 series that have rubber bowl guards. If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out to our Customer Support Team toll-free at 877-272-7755
A: Maybe able to clear a clog inside of a toilet.
A: No, you can not. The snake is hand operated. Mine came with a good guide/instruction sheet for use. Take a minute, read & follow the instructions and you should be in good shape to clear hair balls and small obstructions. - Cheers Remember that this is a dirty job. Wear appropriate clothing, gloves and safety glasses to avoid splash in to your eyes.
A: No. it has a handle that you turn to rotate the snake.
A: No power drill needed. I use it by slowly inserting the snake stopping to lock the lever then spinning the handle to cause the end of the snake to hopefully flop, and clear any obstruction. I do the same thing while slowly retrieving the snake.
A: NO you do NO>
A: No. Just turn handle and feed cable into drain'
A: Yes It can be used to unclog a drain.
A: Yes, the auger can be used to unclog a drain.
A: Yes
A: Yes, I used it on a clogged shower drain.
A: Doubt it. This is not something that would attach to a drill. Sorry!
A: No

A: No
A: I seriously doubt it. these home owner grade tools usually are what they are.
A: No, only the length mentioned (25ft). If that is not enough you need to find another tool.
A: You pull about 6 to 10 inches out of the drum after releasing the latch. Push the latch to hold the cable. Push the cable into the drain opening as far as it can goes. Release the latch. pull out another 6 to 8 inches. Latch it again. Push the cable down. If there is resistance, you have either hit a turn in the pipe or the clog. Turn the handle clockwise and push the cable down. do this until the water goes down the drain. If the water does not go down after 10 feet, (20 times of going 6 to 8 inches), then you have a problem either further down or you might have a T joint somewhere and the cable was going UP at the joint rather than going down. I had to call in a plumber. The first one could do it. The second one knew what he was doing. He listened to the sound from the wall and was able to determine when the cable was going up or down at the turn. He pulled back a little and push again until he heard the cable was making sound downward.
A: Very simple in handling, just release the safety lever, hand drive it until you feel the clog, lock the safety lever back and start turning the handle. If you feel it moved, again release the lever hand drive it etc. Home Depot hosts some instructional video under same products, check them out!
A: No worries, John! For your convenience we have a video that explains how to use BrassCraft drum augers. If you have any questions after watching the video, by all means feel free to call our Product Experts toll free at 800-835-2200.
A: you push the auger end into the drain as far as you can and then you crank the auger in a counter clockwise fashion which will allow the auger to do what it needs to do while gently going deeper. Once you have gone as far as you can, you can begin to crank the auger in a clockwise fashion winding it up and hopefully unclogging your drain.
A: You have to open up your pipe under the sink, It is called a "p" trap. It really looks like a "j" instead. This is pipe that comes down from the sink, and then slightly doubles back on itself then exits to a main drain pipe. Most sink clogs are usually in the "p" trap section. Since you have to remove it to use this, take a moment and run the auger end through the trap just to be sure. If nothing comes out of that, then start feeding the auger slowly into the drain pipe. remembering to spin it slowly. In clear pipe, it should move freely. When it encounters blockages, it will bog down. At that point, stop turning it, and pull it back. There should be drain crud caught up in the auger. clean it off, and repeat feeding it down the pipe until you no longer feel any resistance to rotating it. If this doesn't clear your line, more equipped professional help is called for. NOTE>Wear gloves and eye protection. The material coming out of the drain pipe can contain all manner of infectious materials.
A: John, play out a little of the cable and put it down the sink. Turn the crank, while playing more cable out. Keep at it until you reach the clog. You may have to play around with it for a bit, but turning the crank causes the end of the bit to dig into the clog. Every once in a while, pull the cable back out and inspect the end. You should see some gunk or clog on the end. Clear it off, and try again. IF you keep at it, you should eventually get through the clog.
A: The instructions are located under the label on the product itself. You must peel the label back to expose the instructions.
A: Very simple to use. Pull the auger cable out and begin feeding down the drain, into the pipe. Once the tip has reached an obstruction begin cranking the handle, then feed more of the cable into pipe and crank handle again. I usually will crank it as I withdrawn and rewind in its case.
A: If yiu will just follow the instructions that are on the unit, you should have no problem. Be sure to lock the retaining screw and feed the auger into the pibe while torning the crank handle and you should have no problem. After finding the clog and passing through is, I find it effective to "pull and push" the auger through the clog a few times to help clean it out before retrieving the auger.
A: Yes.
A: Yes it can
A: I used it for a kitchen sink clog. Just had to wind it through the drain so that it could go down the pipes fine. A little tricky getting past the 90 degree turn at the wall, but eventually got it to go through.
A: Yes, that's what I used mine for. You stuff the end down the drain, turn the crank, keep stuffing. Periodically put it out again and see if anything comes with it.
A: Yes it can, and very good to use.
A: Yes, that is what I use mine for. I have a wife and teen that runs everything down the sink.
A: That's what I used mine for. I worked great !
A: Davies, Thank you for your question. The answer is “Yes”. This BrassCraft Pistol Grip Drum Auger is designed to work in sinks, both kitchen and bathroom, as well as in shower and tub drains. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Product Experts at 800-835-2200
A: Yes but you need to disassemble the curved drain pieces underneath till you get to the pipe that goes straight into the wall or down thru the floor.
