Questions and Answers for California Air Tools 4620AC Ultra Quiet and Oil-Free 2.0 Hp, 4.6 Gal. Aluminum Twin Tank Electric Portable Air Compress

A:  Hello. We normally recommend a 5500W inverter/generator (running/operating) although we have heard that some smaller generators have performed ok with all of our 2 Hp units. NOTE: after 0.3 seconds (start up) the 2 Hp motor pulls ~1400 watts on average.

A:  I ordered mine online thru home depot quick delivery. Was not available at any local stores

A:  Ordered the compressor on-line and delivered, delivered to my house

A:  The 4620AC unit is currently out of stock at most stores.

A:  I got mine thru Home Depot in Coon Rapids. But i had to have it ordered thru the Net. I dont think it was in the store.

A:  The 4620AC has a Rust-Free Aluminum Air Tank. It will not rust like uncoated steel air tank.

A:  Shouldn’t worry about that. I’ve owned several air compressors, one of them for 20 years and this one for about 3. I also have a very similar one I carry on my RV for camping and filling SXS, 4x4 truck, quads and trailer tires. I bought this one because I got tired of pulling the RV one out for projects around the house. It’s one of the quietest units out there. I’ve used it in the house multiple times it’s so quite. If it ever goes out, and I doubt it would, I’d buy another one.

A:  If exploding air compressors were a normal thing, I don't think they'd be so readily available. The tanks are aluminum, making them lighter and less prone to deterioration. Steel tanks can rust through and possibly 'rupture'. I've had mine for a few years now and it's works nicely. I get lots of comments about how quiet is is.

A:  Here in Minnesota mine gets used a lot in 20F temps and has started up fine at 0F. It's oil less so my guess is that the piston rings don't get hard until about-20F. If they are Teflon then -50F would be the coldest.

A:  What do you mean plastic tubing? Only plastic tubing I found was on the intake mufflers.

A:  I use it to fill a 10 gallon reserve tank, which is also aluminum and has the same psi as this compressor.

A:  Yes, you can use an auxiliary air tank with the California Air Tools 4620AC Ultra Quiet Air Compressor. California Air Tools has 5 & 10 gallon steel or aluminum air tanks with tee (two fitting) connection.
