Answer This Question
A: There are multiple sizes of the ChannelLock brand of tongue and groove pliers. The most popular are the 420 style. The jaw width is about 3/8” wide and will work on up to 1.5” piping or conduit. There are larger sizes (430, 440, and 460) if you need a bigger tool. There are smaller tools to include the 426 pliers.

A: Yes, adjust it to fit the valve plug/cover and do not squeeze the handles too tightly, but just firm and twist. I used these pliers to remove various plugs and hard to remove fittings. These are some of the best pliers I have. I have had to retrieve them from sub-contractors and handy men who liked them so much they brought them home with them! I think I will paint the handles fluorescent purple to identify them as mine.
