A: These are not designed to go inside of a standard cabinet. However, they could/would fit with some basic carpentry skills and some finagling of the brackets and shelving.

A: Good Morning,
We do not recommend not using the hang track, even with having the standards mounted into the studs. It is best to follow the manufacturer recommended guidelines. Thank you for your inquiry.

A: Yes, but the top track will help secure and make sure everything is level, especially when handling a decent amount of weight.
by|Jun 26, 2022
A: I always do. The top track is ridiculously expensive.

A: They usually have screws especially made for mounting the wall brackets that are white so that they match. These I believe they are about a number 12 Phillips head and about 3 inch’s long.

A: Good Afternoon,
FOR STUD INSTALLATION:
Secure to wall with #12x2 in. pan head screws
directly into studs.
FOR CONCRETE INSTALLATION:
Drill 0.25 in. holes and insert #12 wall anchors.
Secure to wall using #12x2 in. pan head screws.
FOR DRYWALL INSTALLATION: Drill 0.5 in. holes.
Remove toggle from bolt. Insert bolt through hole
in standard. Re-attach toggle and insert toggle into
wall. Tighten bolt to secure to wall.
We hope this helps. Thank you for your inquiry.

A: I always use the screws that are part of the Closet Maid system. If you are screwing into a stud, then you won't need the wall anchor bits, but otherwise you will have the wall anchors if you need them.

A: Good Morning,
Unfortunately no the standards and brackets for Shelftrack are not designed to how a laminate board. We do have brackets to hold a laminate board the SKU# is 139700 for the Satin Nickel color and can be located on our website www.homebyames.com. We hope this helps. Thank you for your inquiry.
by|Mar 28, 2022
A: Yes, make sure you mount the track on a solid part of the wall. Just secure the track and install the shelf bracket to the track and put your board on top.

A: Yes it would but it is designed to work with the closet maid wire shelving system. Not sure how you would attach the shelf to the bracket. Also the track is designed to connect to a horizontal track that gives it support. The 12x1 track does not work by itself. I apologize if I have mentioned information that was already obvious to you. Hope this helps.

A: Yes. I would put one on each wall stud and use 12" brackets to hold the shelf.
by|Mar 31, 2022
A: You could. You'd also need the support arms to lay the shelf on. The board might move around a little bit because it would just be resting on those arms. Honestly, though, I'd use the Closet Maid wire shelving because it latches into the support arms so the shelf won't move around on the arms. If it's just to hold bed linens the wire shelving would work just fine and not gather much in the way of dust the way a board might gather dust.

Q:Minimum distance between shelftracks
by|Jan 31, 2022

Answer This Question
A: The shelftrack mounts into the hanging track which is mounted horizontal and into studs. The hanging track than will carry most of the weight. I would say best practices to than attach the shelf track into studs even 16 inches but I have spaced them wider and used drywall anchors if I was just hanging the shelf to hold pictures or items that were lighter
by|Oct 19, 2023
A: I am assuming the question is actually the “maximum” between standards. Minimum could be any distance less than the recommended 24” spacing. Most interior wall studs are spaced 16” apart at stud centers (can be up to 24”). The answer in my view depends partly on the type of shelving being used (standard/light duty vs heavy duty). The manufacturer recommends spacing the standards no more than 24”. If using light duty I would stay with the stud spacing at every stud. If using heavy duty you might be able to go every other stud but watch the weight of what you load on the shelves, and be prepared to add standards to each stud if the shelves sag under the weight.

Q:The ClosetMaid video that discusses wall types and fasteners is a bit misleading. It uses the term ?pan head? screw, but the screw shown in the video is a flat head countersinking screw. Some people may use the incorrect type of screw based on this.

A: I don’t know what a pan head is but I used normal flat heads. My closetmaid shelves have been up for 3 years and remain sturdy. No issues. I hope that helps.

A: I have installed three in my home and I have found that the screw head will not make any difference because the way the assembly comes together
