Q:Does the 11% rebate apply to Dewalt tools?
by|Sep 29, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The 11% rebate does not apply to anything that is on sale or has any other discounts applied. And, unless it has changed, the rebate is only good for product that is available in the store, not online.

Q:Dw735 is 20,000 rpm’s. Dw735X is 10,000 rpm’s Is that correct

Answer This Question
A: To my understanding, the only difference between them is that the 'X' comes with an extra set of blades and infeed/outfeed table extensions. I bought the X, but it is not marked X anywhere on the planer. The DeWalt website indicates both are 10,000 RPM.

A: The DW735 and the DW735X are the same plane model (DW735) 20,000 rpm motor (10,000 rpm cutter head speed) the difference is what is included.
The difference between the DW735 and the DW735X is that the DW735X comes with the infield and outfeed tables for supporting the workpiece, and an extra set of planer knives for the cutter head.

Q:Do the in-feed and out-feed attachments roll the board by its self or does it just extend the table so it’s easier to push

Answer This Question
A: The feed rollers are internal and not directly related to the optional table extensions. The optional infeed/outfeed table extensions help stabilize the board and, I presume, reduce snipe.

A: Feed the material into the
feed rollers.

Answer This Question
A: If you mean to align the blades, no. It comes with a tool to remove the screws, but with many screws, I use a bit in a drill. The blades fit on pins that align the blades. Changing blades is easy.

A: The only tool provided is an Allen wrench. There is no special tool provided for changing the blades.

Q:What is the difference between 735 and 745x model

Answer This Question
A: The difference between the DW735 and DW735X is that the latter includes the infeed and outfeed tables, which you can buy separately.
The DW745X is a table saw.

A: I'm assuming you meant to ask the difference between 735 and 735X, so that's what I'm answering. The 745 is a table saw. It is my understanding that the only difference is that the 735X comes with some extras. To my recollection that was extra blades and table extensions. So in my view there is no difference for changing to a helical cutter. (Read reviews, I think Bird sells two versions. It seems like the reviews back when I looked suggested one was much easier to install but not as good for planing.)

Q:What is the minimum thickness that can be planed?

Answer This Question
A: The manual says that the planer will go down to 1/8 inch but I have never tried to plane less that 1/4 inch. From experience, I can tell you that it will handle 1/4 inch material with no issues. Should be the same for 1/8 inch as well.
by|Jan 21, 2022
A: Per their manual, 1/8” thick stock is the minimum to plane. With 12” being the minimum length.
by|Oct 29, 2022
A: 1/8" if the m material is clean and clear.
by|Jan 15, 2024
A: 1/8 inch, but you can get deep snipe at that thickness on a thin narrow board due to flexing. The front edge of the board can also break.
