    A:  Hi Jennifer, Unfortunately, the problem lies with the output of voltage with the batteries when you're experiencing freezing temperatures. You would need to warm the batteries to operate the lock electronically during these times. The other option you have is to use the key to lock or unlock the door. Hopefully this helps.           A:  The batteries should be good for about 8 to 9 months, depending on how often the lock is being used. The lock will have a yellow flashing light to let you know when the batteries do get low.                         A:  Hi Britt, This unit will show a yellow/orange light on the front of the touchpad. You should also notice the performance of the unit begin to slow down. Please note that if the batteries should fall below the required voltage to operate the unit, it will default to being a standard deadbolt. So please do not leave the keys inside as they will be your only way to open the deadbolt when power is lost. Thank you for your question.
