Questions and Answers for DreamLine SlimLine 60 in. x 34 in. Single Threshold Shower Pan Base in White with Right Hand Drain

A:  This SlimLine shower base is a single threshold shower base designed for alcove installation only, so it cannot be used with the Unidoor Toulon corner shower enclosure. You would need to get the 36x60" double threshold SlimLine shower base to fit the 34x58" Unidoor Toulon shower enclosure. Unfortunately, we do not offer a double threshold shower base with a center drain location. The 36x60" double threshold SlimLine shower base is available with a left drain (model # DLT-1036601) or a right drain (model # DLT-1036602). The single threshold shower base you are looking at has only one full threshold, the other 3 sides of the base are unfinished and must be installed up against studs - they cannot bear any of the weight of a shower enclosure. If you installed the 34" return stationary panel on one of the ledges of a single threshold SlimLine base, the weight of the glass would crack the base. Please only use the proper double threshold base for installing any Unidoor Toulon corner shower enclosure models. Than you for your interest in DreamLine!

A:  The measurements DreamLine provides for SlimLine shower base drain locations are the measurements to the studs. If you look to the left of the main product picture, you will see a photo slideshow and one of the photos in the slideshow will be the technical drawings for the shower base that will show all of the dimensions, including the drain location. For the 60x30" single threshold SlimLine shower base model # DLT-1130602, the drain location (from the studs) will be set at 12" x 15". Please note that the dimensions DreamLine provides for SlimLine shower bases are the measurements from the studs and this is because SlimLine shower bases must be installed directly up against studs. For the 30x60" single threshold SlimLine shower base with a RH drain (model # DLT-1130602) the center of the drain hole will be set at 12" x 15" from the studs (please reference the technical drawing for a visual on these dimensions). A:  DreamLine makes compatible glue-up acrylic walls for this shower base. The QWALL-VS acrylic wall system is a cut-to-fit, glue-to-backer acrylic wall system. The model that will fit this shower base is model # SHBW-1560760-00. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!

A:  Yes - the standard drain cover that will come with a 2" compression-fitted PVC drain should be a cover that is 4-1/4" in diameter. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!

A:  A bed of sand-mix mortar is definitely required for the installation of any DreamLine SlimLine shower base. DreamLine SlimLine shower bases must be installed directly up against studs in a bed of mortar. Do not fasten the tile flanges of a SlimLine shower base to the studs with screws, nails, or other fasteners as doing this will void the warranty on the shower base and will also likely damage the tile flanges on the base. A:  The Sapphire is one of the very few models offered by DreamLine that is not compatible with the SlimLine shower base. The SlimLine shower base only has 2-3/4" of threshold space and the Sapphire shower door requires 3" of threshold space. For the Sapphire, you will need to find a shower base with a 3" wide curb or have a custom tile shower base made with a minimum 3" wide curb. If you want to get a similar shower door that will fit the SlimLine shower base, please check out our Essence and Essence-H shower door models which will be very similar to the Sapphire and will fit on the SlimLine shower base.
