A: For the Everbilt 5/16 in.-18 x 4-1/2 in. Zinc Plated Carriage Bolt (25-Pack), the Zinc is corrosion/rust resistant but will rust if the coating is destroyed or if exposed to a marine environment. While Galvanized will last much longer since it has better corrosion/rust resistance that zinc.
