A: Placing brass in contact with the ground or in the ground will cause dezincification of the brass. This leads to accelerated corrosion and fitting failures, resulting in leaks. When making connections in ground it is recommended to place the plumbing below the frost line and use plastic or Red brass fittings to prevent accelerated corrosion.
