A:  Yes, it can be cut down.

A:  I would say NO. Adhesive wouldn't have enough surface to adhere to. But, if you scrape most of the popcorn off you would not need to have a perfectly smooth surface to attach the panels to.

The surface we recommend installing the panels to should be smooth, clean, flat and dry. Any texture should be sanded down to insure adhesion. Please select a paint that is designed for PVC surfaces and follow manufacturers directions on paint on proper application. Acceptable substrates to install our tiles to are drywall, plaster or clean, smooth tile (glazed, porcelain type tile; not porous or textured). We do not recommend directly applying them to an additional tile and be placed into a grid system. A:  Thank you for your question! If you would like to paint our Glue-up Traditional 1 Ceiling Tile we suggest purchasing the Matte White tile. The other finishes on the tiles will not create an exact color match to your paint nor can we warranty your desired color outcome. The Fasade Glue-up ceiling panel is designed to be adhered directly to a substrate, however we do have the same style tile available in a 2x2 Lay-in panel that would be able to be used as a replacement in a suspended grid system.
