Q:Does the tape come off the door frame without any damage. Will this attach to brick?
by|Aug 8, 2021
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: If you have a good smooth surface like a glazed brick it should stick to it well. If the brick is rough, probably not as good.
For most metal or vinyl frames the mounting tape should not cause any damage. For a wooden or painted frame it will very much depend on the condition of the paint or frame. The adhesive is fairly strong and can pull up loose or damaged paint. The tape may also leave some residue over time that you may have to clean with a solvent or glue remover.

Q:Will this stick to a resin shed door opening?

Answer This Question
A: The hook and loop tape has a strong adhesive back so I don't think you will have any problem having it stick to a resin door frame. Just make sure that you clean the surface of any dirt that may interfere with the tape sticking well.

Q:will this work on my 32" door opening?
by|Jul 21, 2021
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The screen is designed to be several inches wider than the door opening. This is so that the mounting strip can attach to the door frame. If your door frame is at least 36 inches wide then you can use this door screen.

Answer This Question
A: You can't trim it but you can hang it higher up on the frame and it works/ looks fine.

A: I would say no, it would leave the material free to fray. Also, the magnets might slide down the center piece if it were to be cut open. I measured mine from the bottom up & just went up over the door.

A: If its a dog or a cat, they will easily pass through the magnet door
by|May 3, 2021
A: Our Screen Door could be used inside since it attaches to the doors frame molding using an adhesive strip; however I don't know how well it would work with keeping pets out. Most pets learn how easy it is to go through the screen and go back and forth without needing you to open the door for them.Since we don't have a way to lock the opening (other than with the magnets) there is no way to keep your pet from going through.

A: This would be a suitable replacement. It replaced a storm door that got shredded by my dog. No track needed. Still an adequate screen door.

A: I cannot guarantee that it will keep Geckos out. It is not sealed by magnets at the bottom and this could provide a way for them to get in.

Q:I have a 32" wide door. Can the size be trimmed to fit?
by|Aug 21, 2020

Answer This Question
A: The screen is not designed to be trimmed. The 36 inch width is meant for doors that are 34 inch wide and may work with you door as is. The excess width is meant to be attached to the door frame with adhesive strips. If your frame is wide enough then you can use this size screen on your door.

A: No. But my door is also 32" and it fits just fine on the outer door trim. I recommend nailing it up top and using the velcro strips on the sides.

A: It didn’t fit either door I chose it for.

A: I have steel doors and they will stick to the door. We just try to go out the side farthest from the door. Not too much of a hassle. It does not stick to the door when you close it only coming in. I still love this item. I bought another brand with the magnets spaced and enclosed in plastic cases and it was horrible. Don’t buy one with lines in the screen.

A: I can't say that it definitely will, but our door screens have strong magnet that adhere to themselves very well. If there is a steel door close by then there is a good chance it will stick to that also.

Q:Does it stick on wood frame as well?

A: Yes
by|May 3, 2021
A: It should work on a wood frame as well. Be sure to clean the surface well and remove any loose or peeling paint. The mounting tape usually does not fail but may pull up loose paint. If you want to make sure of the mounting you can reinforce the tape with tacks; however we normally don't supply these with our window.

Q:can I trim these to size?
by|May 16, 2020
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Since each edge has either a sewn hook and loop tape strip or a protective hem, it is not recommended to trim the screen to size. It is better to adjust by placing the hook and loop tape higher on your door frame if you need to adjust for height.
