Answer This Question
A: Yes if you are using metal posts. I use plastic posts that have built in plastic "clips" which eliminate the need for insulators.

A: The plastic poles serve as insulators. Any place the wire may contact anything else needs insulated.

A: I would recommend plastic insulators because they also help secure the wire. Besides, at around 5 dollars for 25, they are cheap.

A: Plastic insulators are molded from polyethylene, polycarbonate, or nylon. Plastic poles that are designed for electric fencing are molded from the same materials so that insulators are not needed. Have a skunk digging under the fence. Thinking if I can bury it, the skunk will hit it while digging but the cats won't accidentally come in contact with it

A: If the hot wire is buried, the fence will not function as it will be shorted out. We do not recommend burying this wire.

Answer This Question
A: This wire can be used for a variety of animals. When deterring deer, we recommend using a charger powerful enough to provide a minimum of 4,000-5,000 volts on the fence.
by|May 4, 2023
A: That is what it is designed for. However, I am opposed to that.
I originally bought it to make an unelectrified deer fence - to keep deer from my garden. But then I took it down and replaced it with fishing line.

A: How would you be utilizing it? Are you trying to use it on a fence? Are you trying to make it into a leash? You might be able to use it on a fence but I would NOT use it on either dog's body EVER!!!
