Answer This Question
A: I discarded the plastic inserts that came with the rack and used the screw-in plastic type which I always use for this type of application. If you go this route, drill a pilot hole on the drywall or use a small phillips screwdriver to punch a pilot hole for the insert. This reduces damage to the backside of the drywall and makes for a very secure installation.

A: Once you have marked the location of where you need an anchor, it is best to pre-drill a small hole, then tap in the drywall anchor. Depending on the type of drywall anchor you use, when you screw your screw into the anchor, the anchor will expand inside the wall. Since you won't be securing the rack into a wood stud, the anchors will hold the towel rack in place, but it is not advisable to ever pull or hang on the towel rack.
