A:  We had 4 load shed slots in the transfer switch we installed for a friend that bought and Installed a 24K Generac generator but we need 3 more (1 for the stove & 2 for the hot water tanks), I put them in line to these devices' but the power from the electric company was not letting them operate when the generator was not running so I had to use the other setting for them to work correctly. Hope this helps. All US current is 60 Hz. So I don't know if there is a priority on Hz, I thought it was on clock time. The switch box drops out the loads.

A:  The SMM comes in a NEMA 3R box which IS WATERPROOF

A:  Yes, Generac model #7000 is rated NEMA 3R which means it can be installed inside or outside and is waterproof.

A:  Model #7000 can be installed to manage any home standby unit and will also be able to be used with the 22Kw whole house back up generator during an outage. Generac model #7000 you are able to prioritize loads power items that are most important during an outage through customizable load priority selection. Lock-out feature smart management modules feature a lock-out system, which permits blocking of specific loads only when using generator power, allowing for the important loads to be powered more often.

A:  As with any electronic component that you add to a circuit, if it fails the circuit would drop out. So yes, under abnormal circumstances this could cause loss of power to a range. As for should you install one on a range, we dont on our installs because most of the time once the power fails, the stove will be interrupted long enough for the customer to know that they are on backup power and turn it off. If the customer is concerned about it, then yes, install one.
