              Answer This Question

A:  Don’t install both horizontal. The bar that would be at your side should be on an angle. And the one in front of you, horizontal. But more important, is having an assist bar on the vertical by the door. Because most people fall when they are getting in or out of the shower/tub.

Q:Is the 24 inch Galcer Bay grab bar compatible with Wingits?

                Answer This Question

A:  I don't see why not. The only possible issue is that the washer for the wingit could possibly extend beyond the edge of the flange. If that happens, you would not be able to put the escutcheon plate over the screw heads to hide them. I mounted my grab bar on a pine board, then mounted the board to the wall. This allowed me to go directly into wall studs with screws that went through the board. I didn't want to chance that the wallboard might not be able to support the weight of somebody grabbing the bar. I have photos, but I don't see a place to post them in this response.

A:  Yes, the gentleman that installed our grab bars was impressed with them.  Liked them better than the normal anchors.  We use our grab bars multiple times a day and have had no issue with them pulling out of the wall.
