      Answer This Question

A:  The SDS won't open on either my computer or phone. It says the file is damaged.

      by|Aug 31, 2020

A:  On the Home Depot website open the item location and go down to “see all specifications” and open that then there are 3 tabs across the top - click the left “overview “ tab and scroll down to “info and guides” wager the SDS.pdf file link is located I think these are as good as the Blue Devil solutions at a more reasonable cost

          A:  Not at Home Depot

          by|Jan 6, 2019

A:  #3 can be purchased separately at Pool Supply stores, BUT, expect to pay for that one bottle than you do for this ENTIRE set. If you do go to a pool store, inquire around and look for a place that sells in larger bottles. I have found 4oz and 8oz versions of the chemical over the years.

A:  I have the same problem and the answer I have found it no. I bought #3 at Leslie's and found out it is not the same #3 chemical. The price for the enite HDX refill kit is less than one tester at Leslie's.

A:  Not worth it. If you find that solution anywhere, it is nearly as expensive as the set, and include postage and handling, you lose $. Just buy the set. Why are you testing alkalinity so often?

                by|Feb 10, 2020

A:  No Not from HD but at the price for this kit this is about as inexpensive as buying the solution from the pool store and you get fresh chemicals for the other tests

A:  Yes, that's the way I did it. I ordered and they had it waiting at the service desk when I arrived. Ordering online with the in-store pick-up is a great way to shop at Home Depot. They do a great job here.

A:  For instructions you should buy complete kit with a box, testing tubes and instructions. Usually costs twice the price for this kit.

                              by|Jan 6, 2019

A:  This is a replacement solutions kit - you don't use it. You need to have the actual test kit. That will have the instructions.

A:  These are the refills for the testing kit. You need the kit that comes with the pool/spa water holder so you can measure the alkalinity, PH and Chlorine/Bromine levels. Like this one: https://www.homedepot.com/p/5-Way-Pool-and-Spa-Test-Kit-62364/203796265?keyword=pool+testing+kit. This should come with instructions on how many drops to use to check the water to ensure if everything is at the appropriate levels.

A:  The solutions are standard strength and are to be used per the instructions of the Kit you have. The vial size of kits varies, so drop count will vary. So refer to the kit instructions. I went to youtube.

A:  Everything eventually goes bad, but these last a long time. I found some at least 15 years old at my Dad's house when I was cleaning out the basement. I did a comparison test to the fresher solutions. Exact results. So, they may not have one. The important part of chemical storage is a stable storage environment. Better to not store outside in a shed or in the sunlight.

A:  This is a good question - thanks for asking! Each bottle in the test kit will have a datestamp embossed on the side of the label to indicate the date of manufacture. This stamp will consist of four numbers followed by a letter. The first two number indicate the year, followed by the month, and finally a letter to indicate the week within the month. For example, if your solution is stamped 1701A, the solution was made in the first week of January, 2017. These solutions are good for two years from the date of manufacture, so the example would expire in January 2019. I hope this clears things up for you. If you need further assistance, please feel free to call us at (800) 854-1492.

I did find larger solution bottles a few years ago that were a bargain, but I have not seen them at the Home Depot. This kit here is a bargain. Very happy with it. Bought an extra.

A:  We do recommend replacing reagents with HDX or Poolmaster branded solutions. We recommend all solutions are replaced every two years at minimum to ensure the freshest chemicals and most accurate testing. The replacement solutions are available through Homedepot.com as a complete set (#1-5) only.
