A: I don't think so. I just bought this for a Hunter 52" Dempsey fan and it is different than the original. The original downrod is only threaded on one end. This is threaded on other ends, so it fits loose. I will be returning it. I guess if your fan is threaded on both ends it will work.

A: Hi Jack. Typically you would only need a standard extension downrod, not a double extension downrod: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Hunter-24-in-White-Extension-Downrod-25138/202641559

A: Hey oldwarbird,
Thank you for your question.
Yes, your Hunter Downrod will work on your Hampton Bay ceiling fan.
In fact, other brands we carry in our store, like Westinghouse, are interchangeable with Hampton Bay.
Be sure the 18" length you request will give you the correct height placement for your ceiling fan.

A: Hello oldwarbird. Thank you for your question! Unfortunately, this downrod may not work on a hampton bay fan. Our downrods are tested & installed on Hunter Fans. A Hunter downrod on a Hunter fan is the only thing we can recommend.
