A:  It is not intended for the lid to be removed, but If you remove the hinge pin, it could be removed.

A:  This is made with 21 gauge steel, which is considered Standard Duty.

A:  Designed to be used with H27TR5BLK. You will have to take measurements to see if it will work on the 4-drawer cabinet you want to use it with.

A:  If it is just sitting on top of the wood top, there is potential for it to slide.

A:  It would be fine, there are 4 plastic/rubber insert that comes with the chest you can push in on the bottom. If you put those on it will help the box from sliding around on your wood top. The box itself is quite heavy.

A:  This item does not have a power strip or USB ports

A:  Little late to the game but I feel it necessary to state ; bypass the locking mechanism- have all the drawers open, close the lid, THEN the draws and finally placed the box under the table. No need to remove metal or cause damage to the box.

A:  It is connected with a piano hinge. Wouldn't be the easiest removal, but it could be done.

A:  The lid hinge is not bolted on and can not be removed without cutting off. The lid is welded onto the box. You must remove the lid struts and cut the hinge with a sawzaw to remove.
