Q:Don't like the new design. Previously, the model was installed in the sink and then hooked up to the plumbing. Now, the design requires the plumbing to be fit to the disposal. Can't easily replace new units without expensive plumbing fixes. Why?

        Answer This Question

A:  With "lift and latch" you can rotate the disposer after it is hung to line up the plumbing. They don't explain that in the printed instructions and the download at Home Depot is not up to date anyway. Go to insinkerator.com for help.

Q:Can the switch button be placed inside cabinet?
          by|Sep 26, 2023

          Answer This Question

A:  Hello Betsy, thank you for your question. If you're referring to the push-button SinkTop switch, it requires a hole diameter of 1 1/4" to 1 1/2” and can accommodate up to a 1 3/4" thick counter. It is also ideal for island installations. If you want this to be placed inside the cabinet, please check out the installation guide to make sure it meets all the requirements and will be installed properly. Q:I bought this Evolution 5/8 hp quiet series, paid a plumber to install and within 2 weeks, it is leaking from the bottom. Now what?

              Answer This Question

A:  We're sorry to hear about this, Silva. Sometimes, when it appears that the disposer is leaking from the bottom, the water is actually leaking from a higher place, like the mounting assembly. To determine exactly where the leak is coming from, please check out our troubleshooting guide here: https://support.insinkerator.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/578.

Q:How does the performance of the Evolution Select 5/8 HP disposal differ from the Evolution Compact 3/4 HP (other than the fact that its motor is less powerful)? Is nit quieter?

                Answer This Question

A:  Hi RobinDC, Thank you for asking. Yes, more power only means that it can do the same work with less effort. Both models can grind the same items in the same amount of time. When it comes to features, both have SoundSeal® technology for quieter performance and 2-Stage MultiGrind® technology.
