The InSinkErator Dishwasher Connector Kit provides the gear necessary to connect a dishwasher drain to an InSinkErator disposer. The kit includes an inlet connector, clamping springs, a screw clamp and a spring clamp.

A:  Hello Troy, thanks for your question. The vent or air gap is only a requirement for dishwasher unit and not for dishwasher connections to a disposer. We hope this helps.

    A:  Hi Donald, thank you for your question. The (knockout) drain plug from the dishwasher inlet tube of the disposer is part of the plastic construction of the overall unit. It's broken off from the disposer when it is removed. Blocking this area is not recommended because it creates a potential failure point on the disposer where it could leak.

      A:  Hello Brad, thanks for reaching out. The dishwasher inlet tube is standard for InSinkErator disposers. The size is 3/4-inch diameter. Depending on your dishwasher connector size, the kit fits 1/2-, 5/8- or 3/4-inch hose connections. We hope this helps.

        Q:I am replacing a broken InSinkErator and the dishwasher discharge connects directly to the port on the InSinkErator. Do I need this kit or can I disconnect the hose directly to the nipple on the new kit?

        A:  You don’t need the kit. I would replace the clamp for peace of mind but it isn’t necessary. Just remember to pop out the plug on the new disposal before you install it.

          A:  Hi LouR, thanks for reaching out! This kit is only recommended if your dishwasher hose doesn't fit the connection on the disposer. The Dishwasher Connector Kit fits 1/2", 5/8", or 3/4" hose connections.
