A:  I have had this dishwasher for several years. It beeps? My problem with most kitchen-aid products is that they really don't beep loud enough. My stove for example, it makes one low beep when the timer is up on the stove. What a joke. My Kenmore microwave, on the other hand, will not let you rest until you cancel the alarm or open the door. Irritating, but effective. Sounds like you will love Kitchen-aid. Good luck.

A:  This is the quietest dishwasher I have ever owned. I've had mine for over a year and I still check that it's on because you can't hear it running. Mine does not make Audible tones. There is a read out panel that tells you what phase the machine is in. It even let's you know if you can add dishes after the wash cycle has started. Buy it! You won't be sorry.

A:  Hello Frank! No, the sounds are not able to be turned off. We greatly apologize.

        by|Mar 19, 2020

A:  There are no audible tones on this model when you open it after the cycle is started. It does have one when it is done but it is not very loud and just one. But with that said my idea of loud and your idea can be different opinions.

          by|Feb 28, 2020

A:  The only sound that cannot be turned off that I have encountered is closing the door again after a load has been started, but only IF you do not press the Start button again. You can open the door after starting a cycle to add a dish and it does not beep when opening if the sound is turned off. It is a high pitched beep but it is not loud at all.

A:  Not sure, but we bought this .model and it's super quiet. When we first got it, I had to check if it was running!

A:  I can't speak for the one below, but our Kitchenaid is the quietest dishwasher I've ever had. We usually can't tell it's running until it starts to drain and makes noise in the drain under the sink.

A:  No question here. I never got to use this new dishwasher. I had it delivered and the remodeling contractor installed it and then it was destroyed in 2017 in the Tubbs Fire along with half the town.

A:  You question is sought of ambiguous. It appears that you may need some help in determining whether to repair or replace your KA. Two things factor into this decision. Cost of repair and age of dishwasher. If the KA is over 6 years old and the cost of repairs is let's say $300, take the KA to the junkyard and buy a Bosch. That is what I had done with some of our KA's. You may try to plead your case with WhirlPool. If your case is strong enough let's say it is unsafe due to a upper rack failure, then you may have a strong case since their typical fix is to replace with the same parts that probably will fail within the same time interval as the initial failure. The aforementioned was a guide by Whirlpool when one of our KA's failed due to a burnt circuit board, was 6 years old and the cost to repair was over $300. We had replaced it with KA which failed twice due to top rack failure (hence unsafe) initiated buyback process and eventually replaced the KA with a Bosch. Could not ask for a better dishwasher.
