Use this with a standard three-slot (grounding) wall power outlet to minimize the hazard of electric shock. Do not under any circumstances, cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord.               A:  Hello! This unit works by pulling in hot air from the room, then cooling some of the air with a condenser, which gets released back into the room, and the air that isn't cooled is released as excess heat outside! ^Ian
