Q:How is this fixture grounded? There is bare copper ground wire in the picture.

Answer This Question
A: It isn't. The baseplate and plastic diffuser are plastic, so there's nothing to attach a ground wire to, which is a problem. You just tuck the ground wire inside the box and leave it there. Don't cut off the ground wire, so if you replace the fixture with a metal fixture in the future, you'll still have way to bond the metal fixture to ground. If you're using a metal box, connect the ground wire to the grounding screw on the box, and curl up the extra ground wire inside the box just in case.

A: This fixture is not grounded, nor is there a place on it to attach a ground wire. The bare copper seen in the picture is for the 'hot' (Black) and neutral (White) wires. Any ground wire (bare or with green insulation) present at fixture location, assuming it is pulled to a junction box, would need to terminate inside the junction box per NEC.

Answer This Question
A: Not sure exactly, but it covers a 4" round box. Just like a pull chain or keyless fixture. If I had to guess I would say 4 1/2" in diameter. Hope that helps. I installed them at a house we have in Va. and I'm in NC.

A: Installed less that 15 minutes, see a lot now.6 in diameter.

A: No they are not. I would check when you buy them though because they use to be dimmable. The last ones I got were not.
