A:  The covers are not intended to be removed. Might want to consider a different solution, such as our in use cover 5981-UGY which is also horizontal.

    A:  The screws are to mount the cover & gasket to one of our weather proof boxes (example, 1GM53-GY).

      A:  HI ,Thank you for choosing Leviton. Yes however it is designed to be horizontally mounted which will give the lids a stronger seal over time. You may be interested in the Model # 4978-GY vertical mount cover.

          A:  The device is intended to be installed for a horizontally-mounted boxes. For your application, I would recommend the 4978-W.
