              A:  No, this item is not made to be hardwired, it actually plugs into an outlet, there are different models that can be hardwired to a wall switch

                  A:  That's the way I operate mine. ;) There is a switch on each fixture, however, so you can turn off as many as you want if you don't need them all at the same time. That includes turning off any fixture in a chain, the individual switch controls only that fixture, none of the others in the chain.
