Low flow after installation could be caused by debris stuck at the water entryway of the shower head or debris within the cartridge. You can remove the showerhead and run the water to see if you have good flow with the shower head removed. If the flow is still low, you can replace the cartridge # 1222 and flush out the valve. A:  by the dimensions and number of water ports it appears the shower head would be better suited for overhead use. The large size allowing for to many ports diminishes the pressure as the restricted psi is spread over many outlets. Not optimal for wall use.

The Moen Genta Single-Handle 1-Spray Tub and Shower Faucet in Chrome (Valve Included) has a gap between the handle and the escutcheon plate to ensure the screws on the escutcheon do not interfere with the operation of the handle. Depending on the installation, it is acceptable for this gap to be between ½" to an inch. This can also happen if the valve is push to far forward in the wall upon installation. We would recommend the Arris, Doux, and Flara models. A:  Yes there is a cap you can put on for shower use only
