A: In my opinion it's super quiet on low, such that it does not interfere when I am on calls with customers in any way. I've not used on any other setting than low.

A: Unplug the fan.
There ar 5 locks and a TIE WRAP on the guard grill , connecting the front and back. The locks may be stuck due to paint, so use a blunt object to pry and open the locks.( I used a screw driver) Cut off the plastic tie wrap at the bottom. (look carefully to find it)

A: Be sure that the fan is unplugged from any power source before you begin. There is a plastic wire tie at the bottom of the grille that will need to be cut and then the hinged clips that fasten the front and rear grille together can be opened.
