A: Hi Taylor. Great question! We do not recommend painting our products. Our products are manufactured from polyethylene, which is an oil-based plastic. We have found that paint typically does not adhere to it very well and tends to peel and flake off over time.
That being said, there is a paint on the market called "fusion for plastic" made by Krylon, which some of our customers have used with success. Please note that painted products cannot be returned and that painting the product would also void the 15 year warranty that we are able to offer on and fading or discoloration of the product. Hope this helps!

A: While we cannot comment on the effectiveness of uses outside of our products intended design; as long as you are able to figure out a way to mount/secure these onto your intended location, as long as they are just for decorative purposes there should be no concerns with using them for this type of application.

Q:How do they attach to block wall
by|Dec 13, 2019

Answer This Question
A: Hi There! The decorative brackets are decoration only and are not used to mount the window box therefor, they do not need to attach to a block wall themselves. You would need to attach the mounting brackets that come with your Mayne window box to the block wall, and then attach the decorative brackets to the mounting brackets. The screws supplied with our window boxes are only intended for mounting into wood/siding. When installing your window box to brick or concrete walls, masonry hardware/tapcons are recommended which do need to be purchased separately. You will need to pre-drill holes into the brick or concrete where the brackets will be placed. Then, once the holes are pre-drilled, you can drill the brackets into place. After securing the brackets, slide your window box into place.
