Answer This Question

A:  I doubt it, unless you're forcing the hot water through it. It is not a siphon.

by|May 6, 2023

A:  Yes, you can set the timer to water every three days, the starting time, how many times each day, how many minutes or hours each time to be turned on. I believe the water timer is designed for outdoor temperature water only. Therefore, I am not sure the water timer or garden hose would work well with hot water constantly under pressure reliably. .

A:  This was not made for hot water.

      Answer This Question

A:  The output is the same as from a garden hose. So anything you would attach to a hose, you can attach to this.

      by|May 5, 2023

A:  yes, I use them to water my hop plants.

      by|May 5, 2023

A:  If your mister works without a timer, then your mister would work with a timer also. The timer only control the on and off of the water.

        by|May 5, 2023

A:  I use on drip system. Should work for misters.

        by|May 6, 2023

A:  works on my soaker hose, so would assume it would work on misters

          Answer This Question

A:  1. No. At zero pressure, water does not move. Water in a cup is zero pressure. Water running from the top of the mountain is coming down on gravity or potential energy. That is the difference from the start point and ending point. Therefore if the water is stored at the top of 20 story building this timer would work while the water tank right on the ground will not work. Water pressure at 10 feet is about 4.33 psi or 0.433 psi/feet. 2) With this timer, you can set the number of time to water in a 24 hour period, therefore if you set the timer to water once per day, the longest watering duration will be 24 hours long. If you set the timer to water twice a day, the longest watering duration would be twelve hours. Watering 24 times per day, the longest duration will be one hour. The shortest watering duration is 1 minute.

A:  First question: Never really thought about it, but just checked it and apparently not. When it is on and I poured water into it, it did not pass through, looks like it has to be attached to a bib hose and pressure on it, Second question: 240 minutes is the max time you can program, but 4 hours has always been sufficient for me.

            by|May 5, 2023

A:  The maximum duration for this item is 120 minutes.

              by|May 5, 2023

A:  1. The timer must have pressure to operate. It is basically an extension of your hose but it will allow water to flow thru it on a timed basis. 2. The timer has a multitude of possible settings, but I don't know the maximum time it can be set to.

A:  Mine is mounted directly to the outdoor faucet, but I guess you could mount it to a hose.

A:  It could work that way if you have enough water pressure. I do not recommend this unit. Mine lasted about a week. I pulled on the host to get it to full length and the AquaTimer snapped off at the hose bib. The plastic connection to the hose bib is apparently a weak spot. Don D.

A:  I'd imagine so. I have one of mine connected by a lead house, so not directly to the spigot.

A:  Yes. The valve can stand constant water pressure. The only really question is whether the hose (or water connections) in "front" the valve can withstand constant pressure. For example, Home Depot offers a "flexible" PVC pipe connection that states it is not meant to be under constant water pressure (i.e., should be "downstream" from the valve and not under constant water pressure).

A:  it will attach to any standard male hose fitting, so yes, it could be placed at the end of a hose. But then that hose would have to be left charged, which could lead to leaks

A:  Yes it can. The input side of the timer is a standard female fitting. It can be connected to a male hose bib ending, or to the male end of a hose.

A:  That should work fine. The timer doesn't depend on water pressure to operate, so it wouldn't matter where you connect it. Just make sure it doesn't end up sitting in a puddle of water.

A:  Yes, theoretically, you could do that because the main female connection on the timer is the same size as any regular hose that one would connect directly to the faucet if not using a timer. So you could use a long hose from the faucet, then connect the timer to the end of the hose, and then connect two small (or large) hoses to the two ends of the timer. The problem is that it would leave your timer in the middle of the yard and possibly more exposed to the elements than if it was next to the building. Unless you can provide some protection to the timer (especially from direct sunlight and heat), you would probably be better off just investing in buying two large hoses and keeping the timer connected directly to the faucet. I hope this helps! Good luck!

A:  Probably. I use mine on a hanging basket drip system and the other outlet on an old "micro" type bed sprinkler with about 12 outlets. It has worked well and is very easy to program and use.

A:  There are two lines close to each other, near the bottom of the display, that will show "ON". The PROGRAM line and the MANUAL line. Make sure the PROGRAM displays "ON" and the MANUAL line is "OFF". The lines are close to each other so it is easy to misinterpret the display if you are looking at it from an angle. The manual "ON" would typically be used only to override the program like testing the irrigation system following a repair, or for occasional watering outside the program capabilities.
