A: I bought this. The receptacle in mine is made by Eaton. I wired it to a 40A GFI breaker and put a 32A EV charger on it. It runs 8h straight without getting hot.

A: Yes, but: will be an intermittent load like an RV or an electric range? Or will it be a continuous load like an EV charger? I bought this and it has an Eaton receptacle. Mine handles 32A for hours ok. Might get melty at higher amps...

Q:Why it says ?Temporary ? ?

Answer This Question
A: Probably because they don't recommend having a cord plugged into it as "permanent" wiring. For example, connected to a trailer with a person living in it 365 days a year. Extension cords are not considered appropriate for long-term wiring solutions. "Temporary" does not imply that it will stop working if used for an extended period of time, but the National Electrical Code prohibits using cords as a forever wiring solution.

Q:Anyone know the diameter of the NEMA 14-50 hole in the box?
I am looking to replace the included NEMA 14-50 receptacle with industrial NEMA 14-50 Hubbell HBL9450A or similar which has a diameter of 2.44 inch. This will be for an EV charger install.

A: If you want to use the Bryant or Hubbell 14-50 outlets you will need to do a few minor mods to open the hole and then locate two holes to hold the receptacle. Not hard just takes some time.

A: Did you ever find out if this will fit the Hubbell 14-50?
by|Sep 13, 2023
A: You will need to modify the opening to accept the Hubble or Bryant 14-50 outlet. I also had to add two holes to get the receptacle alignment correct. Not had just takes a little time.
