Answer This Question
A: The template bracket works perfectly on a door jamb without a door stop installed. On a door jamb with a stop installed or with an integral door stop (such as an exterior door casing), the bracket may need to be shimmed up to remain flat against the jamb, depending on the door stop thickness.

A: Without a door stop they work perfectly on the jamb for the strike plate. You may need to shim up the bracket if the door stop is already installed.

A: There are no preset adjustments for a door that is 1.5 inches thick. You could shim the template bracket to allow the latch template to be centered on the door with the 1 3/8 setting though.

A: This will have a steel template frame with door thickness selector for 1-3/4 and 1-3/8 inch doors.

A: Works on doors 1 3/8" and 1 3/4" thick.

A: It is set up and accurate for 1-3/8 and 1-3/4. You should be able to make a very simple jig or adjustment and use it on a 1-1/2 inch door.

A: Check your measurements. In 35 yrs., I have only seen 1 door that was actually 1 and 1/2 in. thick and that was hand planed by the owner

A: I find that a trim router once set up is easier to use, but if you are comfortable using the big guy, have at it

A: Used mine with a trim router and it worked great. My opinion would be that a full size would be overkill.
