Q:Are all of the cobalt bits this brittle? I was drilling aluminum and it snapped
by|Mar 2, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Generally, the greater % of cobalt the bit has, the more brittle it will be. I've found it helpful to chuck these type of bits up a little looser, which allows them to slip instead of snap if they get jammed up when drilling something.

A: The 29 piece set comes with a table of standard drill bit sizes and metric equivalents. While not even fractional metric (e.g. 6, 6.5, 7mm), it often comes very close (e.g. 6.0, 6.4, 6.8) and for a portable set I find this is usually close enough.

A: I will use my bigger 1/2 inch 18 v for the tiniest drill bit. It works if you use some finesse. Other times I use my 12 v for most of my smaller projects. It really depends on what I have close by. Any drill can do nearly anything. It is the person using the tool that really makes the difference.

A: 3/8 inch drill
by|Dec 2, 2022
A: You can use any drill. 1/2",3/8",etc. With smaller(finer) bits you cannot muscle them. Let the bit do the work.
