Q:One of the reviews mentioned the end of the bits not being pointed and not having a pointed tip made getting the hole started more difficult. To me, it looks like these have a pointed end. Can anyone confirm if these do or do not have a pointed tip?

A:  They are "professionally made in China". But they seem good quality.

There alright. Bought them on sale so I thought it’s worth it. Makes holes really fast when there new! but if u hit a nail it’s over! Broke the 1” the first week! Not the longest lasting paddle bits.

I bought this set after my old Craftsman bits rusted all up and were shot. Home Depot had an incredible Father's Day sale, and I got these for like $15! You get ALL of the most common sizes, PLUS an extended impact fitting which you can use with your other driver bits, etc. The cases for these are fantastic as well, with secure locking and a place for a screw in clip in the back. (if you're a contractor these are handy) I switched over to all Milwaukee bit sets, impact sets, etc and couldn't be happier!

Some things I like and others not so much................................................................... This is an unbiased review that is unaffected by the fact that I received this product for free. As proof of impartiality, just click on my nickname and see the average of the ratings I have given over 300 reviews to date. This set comes with a wall hanging set holder. There are two screw holes at the top for hanging it, but I would add at least one hole at the bottom because otherwise the holder pulls up or away from the wall while pulling out one bit. With only two screws at the top, you have to hold the holder with one hand while removing the bit with the other. The bits themselves work ok I guess but I did notice some walking when trying to start a new hole. This is because there is no pointed tip at the end, unlike some other bits. Each bit is clearly engraved with the size in inches. The bits ran straight when drilling, with little wobble. The cutouts for chip removal go all the way to the edge of the bit unlike some others which do not. See attached photos. This makes for a slightly sharper cutting edge but a weaker/thinner blade. I would consider this set to be just average.

This set of spade bits includes thirteen bits ranging from 1/4 inch to one inch in increments of 1/16 inch as well as a holder for mounting the set on a wall. The size of each bit is clearly marked and the shanks are all 1/4 inch making for quick changes in a chuck. In use they perform well making clean cuts in wood. I always clamp a scrap piece of wood under the part that I am drilling and find that the exit of the hole on the work-piece is very clean thanks to wing spurs on the bit.

The Milwaukee High Speed Wood Spade Bit Set is comprised of thirteen bits ranging in size from 1/4 inch to 1 inch in 1/16 inch increments. The plastic holder can be wall mounted. The shafts are standard 1/4 inch quick change style that can be used in drills and impact drivers. The bits are sharp and precisely ground for good balance and smooth cutting. I found they bit into wood easily and cut a smooth clean hole. I would prefer a hard case to protect the bits but for those who keep a set at their workbench this is a good solution.

I have used cheap inferior boring bits all my life. At an advanced age I finally got fed up with poor quality products, less than desirable results and just overall worthless tools. Now this is one fine set of boring bits. Every size I can imagine I have or would ever need. Love the hole which can be used as a wire puller saving a ton of time. The little side tips on the blades ensures a very nice clean and smooth cut every time. It also has a nice 1/4”quick connect end for fast and easy changing from one bit to another. Quality product at a most reasonable cost.

Great size range complete with a plastic holder. This is a comprehensive set of flat boring bits. Here are the sizes you get: 1/4" 5/16" 3/8" 7/16" 1/2" 9/16" 5/8" 11/16" 3/4" 13/16" 7/8" 15/16" 1" They all have a 1/4” shanks that go easily into regular drills or 1/4” drivers. The plastic holder can be screwed onto a wall, but will need space above it to remove the bits. The bits are about 6” long. They work well, going through wood with ease. They make a nice clean hole. Remember not to push too hard when it is about to break through if you don’t want the far side of the hole to splinter. This make a great starter set for someone starting out, eventually as bits wear out and can no longer be sharpened, individual ones could be replaced. Made in China
