A:  Hello Lucy! For the Theo 2-Shelf (55501), if installed without a shelf the metal pieces (shelf anchors) would be poking out. For this reason we do not recommend deviating from its initial design. I hope this helps!

A:  Hi Lucy, The shelves are not adjustable as they fit in the cut out made for each.  However, since you have to screw this desk to the wall in a stud or anchor if studs are not there in that area, leaving out the middle shelf should be fine.  It just may look a bit odd with such a large space in between shelves.  Adilia

A:  Hi there! Our Theo Bookcase (55501) screws directly into the wall and merely rests on the floor. If the floor is uneven, it wouldn't impede the functionality of the bookcase, but there would be a gap. For best results, we would recommend aiming for the flattest surface possible.
