      A:  Sadly, NO. You would have to Use a Certified Seaming Iron engineered especially for Seaming tape. The Special Adhesive glue these Rolls carry can only be Warmed and Melted Safely by Seaming Irons. But Home Depot ALSO carries Seaming irons that you can use with this product at a Good Price! For less than $100 bucks you can pick yourself up a Great Reliable Roberts Seaming Iron. Hope i could help!

          A:  Though not recommended, you *can* & hope you did! Search online for instructions. Not sure why there's resistance from several commenters, unless they install lots of carpet or are concerned over aesthetics or durability... Or they sell the irons?

            A:  It is much better to use a proper seaming iron. They can be bought cheaply or even borrow or buy a used one. The seaming iron slides under the carpet and heats the tape directly. You can't really do that with a steam iron.
