A:  As with any electrical appliance you should check the electrical information on the fireplace logs for their watts and voltage and then use or buy an extension for those specifications. On mine I had a heavy duty extension cord and that worked out well, With extension cords you need to look also as how long they are, their wattage capacity and what circuit you are plugging into and what else is plugged in there.

If you are referring to the dimensions of the fireplace that this insert will be placed into, the measurements should be: - The width of the fireplace needs to be at least 22 inches from to side to side - From the back of the fireplace to the front it needs to be at least 13 inches - From the top of the top of the insert is to the top of the fireplace it needs to be at least 15 inches.
