Q:I have a wood deck on a home with steel siding (commercial type) and aluminum window frames. Would this be safe to use, as it would wet the metal where the deck meets the house and where the run off washes down on the lower level?

Answer This Question
A: Wood Renewer contains citric acid as a wood brightener, so the cleaner has a very low pH. You should consult the manufacturer of the siding and window frames to see if they have any concerns about coming into contact with an acidic cleaning solution. If you use Wood Renewer, you should test a small area first to determine whether or not there will be any issues.

Answer This Question
A: Our Wood Renewer Cleaner is a detergent based wood cleaner, specifically for cleaning wood surfaces. It is also slightly acidic, in order to brighten the wood. If you are concerned about the stamped concrete surrounding the deck, we suggest that you either protect it, or rinse it before, during and after cleaning the deck.

A: A little scrubbing helps if there is dirt caked on there.

A: It depends on the condition of your fence, but some sort of agitation helps a lot! Whether you use a soft bristle brush, or a pressure washer on a low setting, it will greatly improve your results. Dirt and pollen don't tend to rinse off easily.

A: I can give you part of an answer. I used the cleaner to clean a 20 year old wooden deck made from Mangaris. I was surprised at the transformation. My old deck looked great. I applied the cleaner, let it set a few minutes, then scrubbed with stiff bristle brush ( 240 sqft-10minutes), and then rinsed. I was dealing with years of foot traffic. I'd guess that it would do nicely on a fence.
